>remove guitar
>add piano
>hold notes for slightly too long
>make song slow and sound sad
>unnecessary high-pitch moments in the middle of words
INSTANT SUCCESS 100/10 MASTERPIECE
Why?
I guess this is less of a valid complaint than a pet peeve, but eh.

由Elegiac編輯: 1/30/2013 3:00:37 PMnot exactly what you're talking about but while we're talking about godawful covers no-one can justify this piece of shit

Normally I just plain wouldn't give a shit, but Birdy did this to two songs that absolutely did not need it. Skinny Love by Bon Iver and 1901 by Phoenix. The Skinny Love cover took something really personal and great and made it the backdrop to a music videos that looked like a montage of the most pretentious black and white Tumblr photos rolling about. The 1901 cover feels like she just picked the song for the demographics of the people who liked the original, and then completely mangled the mood and fun of the original. Other than that, I think you're making a generalization that's perhaps a bit unfair.

Doing covers can actually be pretty hard. If everyone knows the original, you have to make it sound like you actually did something to it, instead of playing it back for people in your voice. Most songs sound worse sped up too, so going slow is easier.
