I concur.
I also seriously think we need to enforce the ratings on our video games better as well.
You let little kids grow up playing CoD, Halo and other FPS games all the time and it affects them.
Not saying ban them. Keep them out of the hands of smaller kids.

由Lancexlink編輯: 1/18/2013 7:38:18 AMThey affect your mind to a certain degree, and to some extent, your physical skills. Weve all heard the stories about how kids who go over the edge, nail headshots when experianced police officers would have a hard time, and reload their clips like a freakin pro. Video games can sharpen your edge. Theyve had soldiers play simulators to make their instincts more effective as a soldier and improve their marksmanship. I realize it would be hard to enforce the ratings, but I wish parents werent so apathetic about what their kids watch and play. Seriously, it desensitizes them.

I don't think that's true at all. I've been playing Halo since I was 13 (technically I first played it when I was 7, and I didn't find it brutal or all that violent then either), and watching Family Guy and Robot Chicken since I was 10. And yet I would still flip shit at the prospect of real people dying. Fictional violence only desensitizes a person to other fictional violence. I do not think it has any bearing on real violence, unless the person cannot differentiate reality from fiction, in which case there was already a deep underlying problem to begin with.

A waste of money when we should be focusing on making it easier for the mentally ill to get treatment if you ask me. Little kids watch violent movies anyways. If they don't play Battlefield 3 they'll probably watch Blackhawk Down instead and vice-versa. Seriously, everybody in my elementary school always talked about either GTA or Saw.
