I don't blame the Devs, most are tired of destiny & I get that. They've also got no budget & and been told to work with what they have already so they're doing their best. But there's only so many times you can polish & repackage a turd before it's flat & we're at the diarrhea stage now, stuffing it into wet paper & hoping some sticks

While I understand your sentiment, I personally so blame most of the devs, since we don't know for sure who all the people responsible are. We can have sympathy for the devs, while holding them accountable. If they are tired of Destiny, then they shouldn't work on the game. If they are being paid to work on the game, using profits made from us, then they better deliver or people will stop giving them their money and time, which is exactly what is happening.

I misspoke, I put it right in another reply, I do blame the Devs for some decisions I more mean here that their hands are tied somewhat by having no budget to create new things. The tired of destiny Devs, all moved over 2 years ago now, only DMG returned & he's not a dev

Nono you are good. I understood where you were coming from. It's just so frustrating to know alot of these missteps were avoidable if the majority of developer had played the game. For example, the unstable cores were obviously not implemented for our benefit, regardless of what was communicated. So either they knowingly lied, or were oblivious.

由Awtiii編輯: 10/10/2025 10:44:20 AMI REALLY believe they want it to go so low (population) that Sony decide to end the franchise & they're in a really good position to do that given upcoming games - it's a perfect storm. It's either that, OR they realise they can't compete right now, so see this through, get marathon released by march & then release a huge banger dlc next summer/autumn - I say autumn bcoz it'll be a 6 month build & the Devs from marathon would be free to work on it. I mean look at the marathon pre order bonuses, it's all destiny 2 stuff but marathon themed, ghost, ship, sparrow, emblem, skins. So they're either very very dumb/desperate to get pre orders up & are sacrificing destiny to do so, or they know destiny will have little to no content (it won't) & they'll be free to play marathon. Either way they're actively trying to take destiny players over to marathon, officially. But apparently it's not for destiny players, so they're either liars & it is (which is the answer) or they're being deceptive knowing destiny players will pre order for the stuff then cancel but it'll help hit targets or they're gullible enough to buy a gane they've been told isn't for them & then can't complain. It's a huge gamble to let people leave & think they can bring them back in future, coz when addicts move on they find a new addiction & don't return & I think it's more likely that marathon misses targets & maybe we get another year next year of this destiny model & then Sony just shut the studio & take some of the staff. Final buyouts are paid after April & then Sony can do as they please - & Herman hulst saying marathon will release by march but could still be cancelled show exactly what will happen if targets arent met. Sony hate bungie being in Seattle coz the costs are extreme & look how fast they closed firewalk (also in Seattle) despite having TV shows lined up & having the free to play option but no, instant closure.

Thanks for the info! I mean with all these intentional decisions, it really does seem as if Bungie had some sort of wild conspiratorial plan to destroy the game. Personally I think it was more likely that the leadership really *believed* they could get away with making all these terrible decisions and we either not notice them or applaud them. I.e., they were stupid and lived in an echo chamber of their own design. And now the chickens have come home to roost, with the rats desperate to keep the ship afloat long enough for them to make it to their golden life boats.

If agree but ex community managers came out & said it was disgusting what bungie did to destiny, trying to end the franchise with lightfall & other Devs replied backing them up. I think their plan was end in 2023, get everyone on marathon to release 2025, after a 2 year gap they'd expect destiny guys to move to marathon. Lightfall sold well, & the lead was fired (bcoz he failed at killing the game imo) - Sony said continue & it caused marathon to be delayed.
