That your oversimplification of the situation to [i]it all boils down to EV[/i] is flawed. Sure, it's some people's job at Bungie to worry about the money, whether it's to keep the lights on or provide a return on investments. It's a business. And engaging players so they want to keep playing the game is a core principle of game design. It's part of what makes games fun to play. None of this is new or unique. But it's only part of the story. For many of us the rewards for playing aren't housed at EV. They come from completing activities, progressing our characters, and collecting that sweet, sweet loot. No silver required. You claim to have never spent a dollar at EV. Never bought a season pass? If you paid for the game in any way it might as well have been at EV. The money goes to the same place. I bet when you have a few extra bucks sometimes you drop a little on something you don't really need. Shame on you for being so "weak minded". Your stats don't show, but I know you played a couple days ago and you jumped on that IB "hamster wheel" hard. Got a catalyst on that Mida? Lots of revolutions for that. Did you ever get to the top of the leader board? Did it give you a dopamine hit? So my point is... what's [i]your[/i] point? Why throw out a lazy post with a meme that's been beat to death suggesting the game boils down to the manipulation of the brain chemistry of "weak minded" people to influence them into spending money?
