I’ve put up with a lot of grind in Destiny 2 over the years, but the power climb from 400 to 450 in Edge of Fate is straight-up ridiculous. It’s not fun, it’s not rewarding — it’s just mind-numbing repetition.
I’m already sick of running Caldeira on repeat. So I switch to Crucible, thinking I’ll at least make progress there — but after match after match, I get maybe one random Prime drop, and half the time it doesn’t even help. What kind of system is this? It feels like a complete waste of time, and honestly, it pisses me off.
This power grind is actively making me not want to play. And the worst part? I know that in 4 months, all of this will reset, and I’ll be back at the bottom grinding for the same meaningless crap again. So seriously — what the hell am I grinding for?
Up to 400, the experience is decent. I can even get behind the new direction you’re taking. But this hard wall you’ve built between 400 and 450 is a slap in the face. It doesn’t respect my time, and it kills any motivation to keep going.
You can do better. This system needs to change.

Once you get there, 99% of your gear drops lower than power level so you have to grind even further, another full day or two, to get enough at-power drops to get all the gear you use up to level. It's insane. I still want Bungie to speak up and tell us just how many of them have done this grind and what they thought of it. My guess is, they've got nothing to say because none of them have done it. They just console command to get the level and gear they want at the time.

3 回覆It should IMO be the same as previous pinnacle grinds, 10 levels at most. They've made the grind for prime drops infinitely longer than pinnacles and moved the goalposts from 10 to 50....absolutely ridiculous.

由Dooodley編輯: 9/3/2025 3:40:23 PMAm I right in thinking that by pushing the cap from 450 to 550 they're also pushing the currently given tier 5 drops at 450 to a higher level - meaning that 99 % of us will never ever, in any expansion/season, be able to reach a power level with given tier 5's? Or did I get it all wrong and 450 will still be the power level where tier 5's will drop consistently, not only as prime drops?

If the weekly seasonal hub rank up rewards were prime, and the mythic weeklies were prime, this grind would have gone 100x better. The fact our only source of guaranteed primes is from the ghostless vuvuzala is very bad. If Bungie incorporates these rewards as primes everyone would be happier knowing they can at least focus their primes via the altar of relativity in Kepler for the weekly mythic. And each week having the seasonal hub reward engrams be prime to top it off, as well as the raid loot, the raid should ALWAYS BE PRIME.

由SpecialJay77編輯: 9/3/2025 7:02:44 AMBro, the grind from 319 to 320 is frickin absurd!!! The overall leveling this season sucks toad ballz, it is terrible. Most of us aren't even in the 400's or near it yet, because we didn't take advantage of that encore spam, nor do we have 12+ hrs a day to grind, such nonsense.

2 回覆Try this week’s heavy metal event, earn some of Zavala’s weekly rewards, and go play some trials (when it’s available). That’s my one way to level up beyond 400 instead of doing solos/ co-ops missions. Then I can have more time to go play a different game throughout the week.

8 回覆What is everyone even grinding for? I just got EOF two weeks ago and don’t understand the hype for 450.

14 回覆由Lord Mansa編輯: 9/3/2025 9:50:59 AMDon't be discouraged by the mindless, juvenile invevtives lobbed at you by the toxic D2 fanbois/apologists/cultists/no-lifers/addicts who derive their sense of self-worth, esteem, confidence and superiority from how well they play a GAME. I can empathize with you. I'm a solo player currently at power level 400, and I'm ready to quit the GAME. I despise and am sh!t at the jumping puzzles and trasversal sections, so I can't get past the beginning of The Whisper GM conquest mission, as it uses up all my revives. And having to wait every week for Zavala to dole out his few higher-level gear is a PITA. Not to mention the criminally-bad RNG, or the toxicity when posting experiences, opinions or suggestions that D2 elite-wannabes don't like. But from what I've seen, read and heard online, a lot of players share your frustration with the game. Let's just hope that Bungie evacuates their bubble, and really starts listening to the majority of the playerbase.

The lack of gear check is the worst. And it's not even about gear check on prime drops, it's the power drop gear check - or lack thereof - that is the issue. I've now gone through upwards 60 completiions - meaning a couple of prime drops - without getting a primary OR class item at power. The outcome is that the grind is even slower, because I'm lower than I should be all the time because of 1 or 2 slots. Those two slots are now lagging 4 behind the rest. It's insane. Had I managed to get them up to level with the rest I probably would have been 3-4 levels higher now - because the primes would have dropped higher.

4 回覆The system is changing and the less players they see attempting the 400 to 450 grind, the more it will continue to change. As it is rn, grind to 400, wait till the major update and then get the last 500. Events have a +1/+2 teir for loot drops so you get the t5 armor and weapons. In terms of doing the 10 to 400 grind all over again, that grind is being cut in (almost) half for all future dlc. You get put back to 200 instead of 10. A much more manageable number that represents time spent outside of the newest dlc.
