8 回覆I got to stack on so many modifiers just to achieve B rank now.... It's like the stronger I get power-wise the less points I get but the larger the number?... And every time I get gear that's better than the gear I got the points I get go up but it means less? And every time I get to a power threshold I stop getting gear unless I'm playing the hardest thing available? I'm trying to help my buddies do missions and set up modifiers and whatnot help them out they'll get gear and hire ranks but I don't and get less score but I'm higher level so it should be easier but it's not? What kind of backwards system did they make for this expansion?

They should throw out the bonus score multiplier for using new loot. New loot already gets the damage bonus and damage resistance bonus to incentivize it. The champion mods are garbage and this new throw away loot pool is very thin.

16 回覆I think the point is being lost to some on this post. The point isn’t that the weapons are unable to be used at all, which of course isn’t true, but the fact that you are punished for using old weapons. Your total score isn’t as high as it could be, as well as you are unable to participate in the Avant Garde modifier. Regardless, I’d love to use old weapons, however once the solar sword comes out with Eager Edge, I won’t necessarily have a need for any non-featured gear.

I used to play Destiny for the Progress. More power, more weapons, etc. In honesty, I found that as I did progress, the game got harder, and less enjoyable. By reports, it hasn't got any better, which is why I didn't buy it, and only play the free stuff. What I'm reading now is that they have to play Grandmaster to get some particular gear, or level of gear. Jeez! Grandmaster to progress? Is that correct? I have a suspicion, and it was mentioned here and there, that the reason players left was it was too hard! Of course, hotshot players disagreed, but the numbers are not good, are they? Anyway, I don't get my knickers in a knot over it. I just play the game for something to do, and if I don't get to some level or other, it doesn't matter. As far as I'm concerned, Bungie left me. I didn't leave them.

27 回覆
The game is so boring and restrictive now.
You certainly can use old gear. However if you want to get the best grade then you may need to make use of featured gear for the bonus multiplier. If you are below 400 and would rather use old gear when leveling you can. You can still level but won't get +3 or +4 gear, you'll only get +1 or +2 gear. A bit slower bu t you still progress and get to use what gear you want. If you want to progress as fast as possible then do what's required to achieve your goal.

2 回覆Went to put together another hunter build and the special energy slot is sooooo limited for featured gear in every category of weapon archetype and energy type compared to my vault options. I’m getting shoehorned into making really similar utility builds cause I’m restricted heavily by this as well as the champion mods in the artifact, because you can’t always rely on randoms to have stun capabilities. It is so annoying now that I’m build crafting and want to move away from the same play style in every encounter and using the same weapons on all 3 characters.

14 回覆A lot of people seem to mistake a slight reward for trying new gear for being penalized for using old stuff

2 回覆Old armor was made useless with T4 and T5 rolls that easily add up to 100+. Old Exotic rolls are somewhat useful if they are of the current curated collection. Also it is hard to gain the higher exotic rolls. Old weapons are useful with no real disadvantage other then curated bonuses. That said cost to bring up to light level is so high you need to prepare to use in new games. Exotic weapons have curated types limiting bonuses. At least you don’t need to get new rolls for new unique settings. So much Bungie could do to improve quality of life. Holding onto hope they see the light. This laser focus on season gear has got to stop.

由Mark, Scholar of Stars編輯: 8/17/2025 12:41:07 PM
The game is so boring and restrictive now.
Yes, it is. You can use your "old" weapons like I do. But it isn't optimal for progression. If you want the "best" out of it, you have to play like Bungie wants you to: using current armor and weapons. I don't like it either, but that's how it is with "Edge of Fate." Bungie changed almost everything with that new DLC. How this works can be seen... In the meantime, Sony hired ex-Bungie developers, established a new studio with them called "TeamLFG," with headquarters in Bellevue, WA, the same place as Bungie has his headquarters, and set them to produce a new live service game. It looks like it wasn't all that bad, developed formerly by Bungie. Edit: I don't like the Portal. Everything is centered around it, including Seasonal Challenges. I avoid it. Instead of, I take the planetary tour for bounties with the Director. I like diversion.

38 回覆Fun fact, you're 100% allowed to use old gear. A single modifier that only exists inside conquests, is not a valid argument for why you "can't use old gear".

5 回覆And if you didn't fork out for the expansion, the Free stuff, apart from the Area GL, is all rubbish. But you get penalised for playing with your old stuff, especially in Crucible.
