I agree it's not fun, because the only viable strats you can use to complete those missions involve camping in the back with a well or barricade, with long range weapons. BTW, if you want any advice on completing the mythic missions - get a couple friends, have at least 1 bolt charge barricade crest of alpha lupi titan that can spam barricades (which heal you when they use crest of alpha lupi) - 2 titans is preferable, and the 3rd person can be whatever (a well warlock is preferred). All 3 people should be using outbreak (make sure you have upgraded the intrinsic fully and masterworked with rewind rounds). An alternative to outbreak is polaris lance with a couple of the artifact mods paired with it. It will be extremely boring, but unfortunately it's really the only consistent way to get it done.

In no way do you need to sit in the back.
