Crafting killed the grind, it had most people only play long enough to get the weapons crafted then they stopped playing till the next season.
Personally I get why they removed it if people aren't playing then they aren't as likely to buy crap from eververse.
Plus if you've already got the best weapons from crafting why preorder the next expansion, why grind the new stuff.
When your old crap is still outperforming the new stuff in every way there's no reason to care.
So the tier system was made to make crafting obsolete plain and simple.

The issue with you guys is how limited you are in imagination and scope. Truly an argument from ignorance fallacy if I've ever seen one. Because you can envision a scenario that is both rewarding to ppl who love to grind but also allowance crafting, therefore crafting bad. 1. Bungie has stated crafting is not fully dead, they intend to use it as a catchup mechanic for old weapons . 2. There's a world where everyone is satisfied. It simply requires a bit of a rework. 3. It's crazy you immediately cave to a company exploiting your time for engagement simply because you're chasing a mild serotonin boost given by acquiring a digital weapon that will be obsolete in a what a year? maybe.

Do they put more effort in the cash shop (if present) than the overall game? D2 has less players than ever, clearly crafting wasn't the problem.

Craftable weapons wasn't preferred by bungie as the main focus of the game. You could see it being slowly funneled out every new season last year. "Bungie removed crafting because it killed the grind" is my opinion, if you don't like it I don't care. Also the bs about steam numbers doesn't change that or anything really. There was more people playing because lots of them though it was the end of destiny 2. Many chose then to play one last time then permanently quit destiny when that expansion ended.
I played to waste time after getting off work every night I didn't care then either just like I don't care now. It's just more repetitive and boring now is all, at least you had a chase item before.
Getting 5 patterns was a chase and time investment, because that's how "crafting" in any game is, you grind to get what you need to use said item What you want is shiny carrot v1 and waiting for shiny carrot v2 in Renegades once they reset everyone to 200 and render all your precious loot once again useless due to bungie thinking what the game needed was seasonal damage % buff based on IF you're using all of their "le current shiny toys" they want you to use, is it mandatory? No, but all this shouldn't be in the game in the first place, this isn't what will save D2 and surely not at rendering every other old content essentially bloat as no raids/dungeons are in Portal and exotics missions like Zero Hour, Seraph Shield, etc are not present except Whisper, Starcrossed, Kells Fall and Encore Kepler is just like Pale Heart is, EMPTY of any guardians in patrol, bungie turned Destiny into a solo game rather than an open game where anyone and everyone could show up and help naturally (as in, they see you doing something and participate)

由Grim編輯: 8/12/2025 9:01:15 PMNo I said it killed it for others, I've never cared about crafted weapons I felt like they weren't going to stick around and they didn't (too good to be true). It's all gimmicks and bungie is just trying to keep people playing. Crafted weapons, weapon traits, double perks, adept weapons, tier weapons It's all the same. Just worthless garbage that get overshadowed with every new update and every new perk. I was just telling you the reason they removed crafted weapons was because they couldn't get the general playerbase invested in the grind anymore. While crafted weapons existed the grind was dead so they replaced them with an even worse grind aka the Tier system.
