Sony Takes Over "Make Destiny 2 Great Again"
Sony is slowly taking over Bungie. It was announced today. To me this is great news. I do not think the studio is in good hands right now with how unsuccessful Edge of Fate is and the disaster showing of Marathon. I am not rooting for Bungie and the people who care about Destiny to fail. I want the studio to take a new direction and finally listen to the fan base. I hope their is a new vision for Destiny and one that will bring it back to its "Golden Age" We will have to wait and see.
I also have a theory that Renegades is something that Sony wanted.

Wallpaper Engine is more popular on Steam than Destiny, and it's getting over run by cheating casuals who are making the most of it before it disappears. My only hope is that someone buys the PVP IP and gives us a proper Crucible style game with an up to date anti cheat. When it works, it's the best (non armed forces) shooter around.

You're cheering because instead of a bear mauling you, a jaguar is gonna be mauling you.

sony taking over bungie, and ostensibly destiny, is the worst thing to happen actually. instead of a guy who knows about games mostly and really likes expensive cars might suck but he isn't a corporate board room who works for the profit of shareholders. things are gonna get a lot grimmer before they get better.

6 回覆Need Sony Japan. The American branch needs done away with. Japan still hires and promotes based on experience, talent, skill, and work ethic. Not social politics. Bungie care far more about the company photo and virtue signaling.

I really hope Sony turn this game around. Bungie deserve this treatment, they've mishandled this game for far too long and gotten away with treating their customers like cash cows.

6 回覆Renegades is castlevania style. It's the other half of Luke Smith's payback game, the first half is edge of fate. It was a game built to follow destiny, but was cancelled & is being used for this year. Idk what castlevania style is btw, but the 2 halves of payback were metroid style & castlevania style, & edge is metroid.

of course I am rooting for the people of bungie to fail. everyone that is even remotely responsible for the clusterfu.... that is EoF should be let go immediately. They should get what they deserve for destroying this great game and utterly disrespecting their customers!!!

9 回覆Let us face it: This September/ October Destiny 2 will be 8 years old. We all know the issues it currently has- and I am not talking game direction- or how game modes are handled - as that’s a matter of personal taste if you like it or not. Bugs- seem more constant. PvP- more lag seems to be happening. Updates- more frequent updates- that has started a few years ago. Also that takes longer- and typically cause more issues afterwards. Major Updates- New DLCS- are often hard to play day one if not even day three at times. Old and or likely broken code that seems to cause missions and enemies not to function correctly. Old Engine- Tiger- is a 17 year old engine- by modern standards- especially for an online multiplayer live service game. With my research and understanding- that can be a big reason for many of the problems- or at least contribute to them. 17 years old is old from a technology standpoint. 8 years is old from a game standpoint. IMO- there’s not -going to be a “Golden Age”. for Destiny 2. From a time, resources and money standpoint- it’s probably easier and more efficient and less costly to start over, than trying to update an 8 year old game to a new “Golden Age”. If there is a “Golden Age” it will be in some new game- Destiny 3 or some form of a Destiny Universe. New game benefits: Could be built on a new and modern engine. Code would be up to date and new. Likely drop oldest gen consoles- that would let them build a new game on the most up to date graphics and technology. Anyways, just my thoughts.

Sony is beginning the process of migrating Bungie devs into their main studio to help with their live service games. Bungie has not been a profitable acquisition and Sony is cutting their losses. The saga might get canceled after Renegades and Bungie as we know it won't exist.

Good. People are worried Sony would kill it. I guess they forgot that its from Bungie in the first place. Quick replacement would be cool, but incredibly unwise. Slow is the way to go. So, Sony is already making better decisions.

Well Sony r at least more in touch with their player base for 1 thing. I like the weapons and armour in EoF and like the new Tier system. But the campaign and story were hugely disappointing and characters like Lodi and Orin were cringe and that's being nice... pair of whiny, gen Y geeks the 2 of them. I'd say Lodi is actually the worst npc bungie have made. Kepler is also very aesthetically displeasing... too many pale and insipid colours and boring terrain. Bring on Sony I say! But the possible return of old 84 North 32 East in Renegades warms me up a bit.

Sure Sony has great exclusives but they also have a track record of timed exclusives, horrible consumer practices on their own platform store, and treat other platforms horribly. Plus don’t forget why they are taking over Bungie a lack of profit. Sony is a 40-50 billion dollar company they will prioritize profit over anything else and with how monetized destiny 2 is I can see it getting even worse. Idk I’m just not convinced things will get better even with the new management. Like when Xbox bought activision I thought cod would get better and it never did.
