Fusions are sound telegraphed. Shotguns are not. Half the time, you can swap to a primary and 1 tap with a handcannon faster than medium charge Fusion Rifles if your shotgun doesn't OHK. There's a reason shotguns have higher usage rates and more kills than all other special weapons.

Please remind yourself that just because you suck at precharging a fusion doesn’t mean everyone does. Also usage for fusions are never going to skyrocket even if a rapid fire hits at 200m out because they are lame asf weapons and many just avoid them cus they’re noob weapons. Also not sure what you mean “light telegraphed” unless it’s a lore reference. In d1 fusions had actual travel time cus they were actually projectiles. This meant they weren’t as accurate , didn’t have as much aim assist effect, and there was actual time to dodge the shot.

Fusions aren't going to skyrocket because Shotguns insta kill without a delay and can be used in midair with more consistency and are best at stopping players at corners or on capture points. Do you not even consider the difference in range between MAYBE getting a OHK with a shotgun vs challenging someone in primary range with a fusion that aims for you and is gonna get the OhK in a safe range without having to get close which is the entire risk.
