Part 6 The Guardian and Ghost stood by the Hydra leader in front of their 10 companions. The Heretic Gatelord stood with its army which seemed to be slowly multiplying. The two oppositions stared at each other awhile.  The Hydras broke off into groups of two where they would attempt to manually tap into the 4 Vex plates in each corner of the room. The remaining two Hydras accompanied the Guardian and the Hydra leader who all made their way to the giant conflux in the middle of the room. The Hydra’s were tasked with taking back control of the Vex plates so that they could restrict the Heretic Gatelord from summoning more reinforcements.  The corners at the front of the room were easily captured by the two groups of Hydras, since the Heretic and its forces occupied the other side of the room.  The Gatelord’s Minotaurs charged towards the two remaining Vex plates and pursued them with extreme aggression. The Gatelord stood where it landed and watched as its forces defended the remaining plates. The Hydras formed up in two groups of four and focused on capturing the plates. The Guardian fought off several Minotaurs that attempted to seize the massive Vex conflux. The Hydra leader opened fire on a Minotaur that had attempted to flank the Guardian. A series of well placed salvos from the Hydras cannons quickly defeated the sneak attack. The Guardian raised their hand to give thanks for the save.  The Hydras focusing on the left side plate paved a path to their destination. However, a group of Minotaurs rallied up and clambered their way onto a Hydra. Four Minotaurs began to glow a shimmering white. They began to sacrifice themselves, burning away at Hydras armour plates. Suddenly, the Hydra broke down, crumbled and exploded into a brilliant fireball. A nearby Hydra fell victim to the explosion and limply floated on. Another group of Minotaurs came and saw to its end. The other two Hydras made their way to the plate and successfully captured it. A total of three plates had been reclaimed which meant only one more was require, the back right plate. The Heretic Gatelord had seen enough and decided that it was time. It summoned 6 of its followers and they formed a perfect circle around their leader. In one motion the Minotaurs all took a knee and initiated a sequence. Suddenly, the 6 Minotaurs broke down and a mixture of Radiolian Fluid and Overload matter oozed out of them and onto the floor. The mixture came to life and slowly crept its way to the Heretic Gatelord. The Heretic shifted its armoured plates to harvest the energized mixture. It oozed and crawled its way into the openings of its body. Its body twitched as its strength grew. The matter slowly consumed the left arm and drooped down. A tentacle of great length throbbed and pulsated as the matter rapidly changed its density. The armoured plates on the Heretic shifted and realigned for battle. Part 7 The Heretic fired a salvo of torch cannon shots on the two Hydras that had captured and locked the third plate. One of the Hydra slowly turned to face the Heretic and was about to return fire however. The Heretic quickly lifted its left arm and the tentacle that now encased its arm stung out and struck the ground. The tentacle tightened and with great force, the Heretic propelled itself forward closing the gap between it and the Hydra. The Hydra opened fire but could not lock a shot on the Heretic. As swiftly as it sprung forward, the tentacle released itself from the ground and then hardened like a sword and pierced through the Hydras armour. The Heretic glared at its opponent as the light drained from its eyes. The other Hydra opened fire but the blasts simply splashed over the Heretics plates doing no damage. The tentacle shrunk down and the Heretic evaded the incoming fire. A group of Minotaurs flanked the Hydra swaying its attention. The Heretic ran up and struck the Hydra with its sword like tentacle. It lifted upwards slicing through the eye. The Hydra crashed to the floor dead. The battle ground shifted, 3 captured plates, 6 Hydras, and the point of interest was now the 4th plate which had not been reclaimed. The Guardian stood beside the Hydra leader guarding the massive Vex conflux. A very large group of Minotaurs put pressure on the Hydras. Luckily a Hydra initiated the sequence. All they had to do was keep the Minotaurs from interacting with antenna rising from the plate. Minotaurs swarmed the corner and forcibly toppled and consumed a Hydra. Moments later a bright yellow light grew and a thunderous explosion erupted and a pile of Minotaurs flew up in the air. The Heretic Gatelord went on a rampage and engaged two Hydras at once. It spun and evaded, shot its torch cannon, slashed its tentacle sword where the Hydras shields weren’t covering them. In a single thrust, its tentacle ran its way through the two Hydras. The tentacle retracted and two fireballs erupted, followed by a wave of heat that flashed from the corner. The ray of light from the conflux hit the last antenna and flashed repeated signalling that its capture was complete. The antenna slowly lowered in the floor and the plate disappeared. The Hydra leader locked the arena through the large Vex conflux. It returned to its gentle spin and pure white light. Now that the plates were reclaimed, the Heretic had no means of calling more reinforcements. However, the Heretic could still escape if it vanquished its enemies. The Heretic made it to the Hydra that had recently captured the last plate. The Guardian and the Hydras remained by the Vex conflux but were busy with the overwhelming amount of Minotaurs coming their way. The Guardian gathered enough energy to use the weapons special ability. Moments later energy surged through the air and dazed several Minotaurs within the vicinity. The Hydra leader and its two Hydra companions stomped the ground and sent several Minotaurs flying. The Heretic Gatelord saw this coming and instantly fell to its knee and encased its body with hardened solar energy. The shockwave from the Guardians weapon simply rippled around the Heretics body completely untouched. “It didn’t do a thing!” Ghost said in total disbelief. The Heretic quickly stood to its feet and sent out its tentacle arm. It cut through the Hydras shield and wrapped itself around the Hydras body. With a powerful pull the Heretic reeled it and followed up with a killing blow. It raised its torch cannon up in the air and slammed it down with great force. The Hydra eye shattered and a long crack ran down the middle of its body. It fell to the ground, lifeless. The Heretic Gatelord turned to face its opposition, 2 hydras, the Hydra Leader and the Guardian and their Ghost.
