Ritual Bounties Update in The Final Shape

In The Final Shape, we’re introducing the Ritual Pathfinder, a new rewards path that will replace Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit bounties and their weekly vendor challenge. While the Pathfinder will replace bounties at these vendors, they will remain unchanged at other vendors. We’ll have more info to share on the Pathfinder in the next couple of weeks. We wanted to give a heads up so everyone preparing for The Final Shape can prioritize how they spend their time. Any Ritual bounties held when The Final Shape releases on June 4 will be abandoned.

  • I am unsure if this is a typo or if this is hinting at a to-be-reimplemented feature, but under the new Pathfinder system, I have an objective called "Light Magnitude" which instructs the player to create orbs of power in the primary game modes [i]using abilities or masterworked weapons[/i]. I know mods, aspects, and fragments need to be slotted for abilities to produce orbs of power, but we currently have no way of producing orbs with masterworked weapons. Elemental mods exist for weapon types, so is there any chance we could get a helmet mod that allowed masterworked weapons to create orbs of power? That, or is this able to be reworded to be more helpful to newer players? (If it were to be implemented, a masterworked weapon mod could just function similarly to the other orb-producing weapon mods, though since most weapons can be masterworked and can be held in any slot, it may be better to set it at 3 armor power cost since you had to invest exotic quest time and materials to masterwork weapons, and most helmet mods are already expensive as-is. If the other helmet mods weren't expensive and if materials or time did not have to be invested, I would say it should be set at 4 armor power cost.) Thank you for taking the time to read this post.   • Opened Pathfinder for the first and last time on the first day of the TFS. So im either forced into Gambit or Crucible to earn my rewards. Wow. Promised as a way to earn rewards to fit your playstyle yet delivered exactly the opposite. This is so lame and pathetic on your part.

    • Today on launch day, pathfinder step 2 has one non PVP option to advance pathfinder. As I feared Bungie is using pathfinder to artificially inflate player count in PVP. PVP has been broken and rather then really fix it, many band aids later, bungie is working to feed scrubs to all the elite PVP streames via pathfinder. It is not even a PVP focus week. As I feared Bungie is going to use pathfinder to force players into the ritual activity they want rather than give players the agency that was promised with pathfinder.

      • Tried pathfinder, it sucks. You should seperate pathfinder between different rituals. I will not be compelled to play a gamemode I dislike or do not feel like playing. Common Bungie L

        • So essentially we cant pick the bounties in the game type we want, but now have to go along linear "paths" of bounties that you choose for us in game types we dont want to play. Ffs 🤦

                I'll bet my salary that Pathfinder is yet another way to reinforce the hamster wheel grind and force players into playing the worn-out-boring-to-death core game activities (strikes, gambit, crucible), nothing else. Everything is made to burnout players. No surprise that you're losing them and the ones (like me) that still play this game, spend less and less time actually playing it.

                    Only thing I hope the game and the bounties will remain accessible for casuals. Don't force us to buy Final Shape. I'll buy it if it's good. Also don't force us to do increasingly hard content. It's fine if it's there for hardcore players, but it's hell for casuals like me. And I've bought all expansions so far, just saying. I hope those older expansions will remain available as well.

                      Preparing for the final shape? In the old days you hyped a DLC. Now? nothing to be hyped about. Buying it? For now, not worth it.

                      • Speaking of ritual activities, please put the old ritual weapons back in the Monument to Lost Light. I was excited to complete my ritual weapon collection when I saw they would be unsunset, only to find many missing. I know we can now grind random rolls on them, but that is totally contrary to the purpose of ritual weapons. I would have bought them earlier if we weren't so sure you would never undo sunsetting. Please allow us to complete our collections of these older weapons now that they are more useful

                      • I have a question regarding seasonal bounties. If I have a completed Riven bounty from our current season, will I be able to cash that in after the launch of Final Shape and a new season? To be specific, can I cash in a completed season 22 Riven bounty after the launch of season 23, after June 4th?

                            So the last 2 years players have asked for all vendors to have the same rep and focus system as the Ritual vendors, Bungie has slowly been giving other vendors a similar system but now you're changing it? I'm guessing this is to reduce the amount of Exotic Engrams we get, due to the new Cryptard system. So, what happens to rep? Why can't you tell us now? Is it because you haven't fully figured it out yet?

                            • Not certain I follow the logic. So instead of three weekly rewards (bright dust, etc) by completing bounties for each vendor you have one. Unless this will be tied to the exotic enemgram reward tree. So faster weekly progress with possible reduction in rewards. But new name for existing reward tree. Why announce this?

                              • No. Don't wait to give us more info. People have started bounty prepping for Final Shape now. Tell us what changes are happening now so we don't waste our time doing something that won't matter for Final Shape.

                                • I hope this means the activities themselves will at least grant more exp then since the artifact grind gets so boring as it is, but having to sub in even older content will kinda suck.

                                  Should have been communicated at least a month ago before bounty prep. 3 weeks until the DLC begins with a raid coming 3 days after launch... I hate being a dedicated Destiny player sometimes. I just deleted 7 crucible and vanguard bounties per character, that's 42 total... what a waste of time that I could have spent elsewhere.
