And if you point out to any of the people doing it that maybe, just maybe, their behavior is unreasonable, or otherwise harmful, you could be called anything from a bungie bootlicker to a troll. Even more fun, you could find them making some absurd claim about your political stances as a strawman [i]based on your opinions about a video game.[/i] I would say that I imagine most of the people here don't intentionally go around starting fights, but I can't even say that with certainty anymore. There are so many people here that neither play the game nor know anything about whats happening other than what these forums or youtubers tell them, and then go and bash people who actually enjoy the content that's being put out. Not that there aren't people who like the game that are doing this, though I believe they are few there are people out there who enjoy the game and go way too far in defense of it. But that's besides the point. This community consistently rewards provocative insanity and toxic dialect rather than critical thought and compassion for our own community, and it has been this way for years. Only ever getting worse. Beyond flagrantly censoring anything they vaguely dislike, there's not much that bungie can really do to stop this. I think that we, as a community, need to start making our community a less hospitable place for toxicity. We need to stop rewarding fearmongering and conspiracy theory with attention, and we need to call out harassment. And, just to pre-empt this, we all know there are gonna be the usual debatebros in the comments who have engaged in these kinds of behavior who feel the need to use fallacious logic or inflammatory language to justify or otherwise mask why they do these things.
