Thank You For Listening, Bungie

In this time of layoffs and delays and heading into a season which seems like it might follow yet another week-by-week formula, things haven't looked well for Destiny or Bungie lately. We still don't have a single all-encompassing pack of all DLCs nor are the oldest DLCs sold at a reasonable price. The game still kicks us out of menus when we warp somewhere or load into an activity, and the laundry list goes on way past these things here. But, this one small thing tells me that Bungie has at least given a small effort to listen to the community and act immediately to change a non-gameplay issue. And that is the removal of the Starter Pack from the store. I mean I guess it does affect gameplay but its purpose was to be sold for real money, and to have sacrificed that potential gain in response to old and new-player feedback in such a short amount of time actually impresses me. You could have hit back with an "it pays the bills" statement or something business-like, but you took this one thing (inconsequential in the long run), understood the clear line the community draws on microtransactions, and even publicly admitted to the fault. This is progress. Not amazing, but refreshing. Does it un-fire Salvatori? No. Does it make a proper new-player experience? No. But it shows for the first time in a while that upper management DOES have the ability to listen to SOMETHING. And it raises my investment in Destiny's future by roughly 1% at the moment. While that sounds dismal, it is something, that hasn't happened in a while. So thank you. I hope there are more demonstrations of considering and acting on feedback in the coming weeks and months.
