And currently works as intended.

It was said of the weekly ritual list challenges, which dropped pinnacles. There was talk of updating the weekly ritual list challenge rewards to exotics but it was not mentioned that they would no longer be pinnacles in anything that Id read. For instance, here's the exact text from the SotG: "With Season of the Deep, we’ve upgraded the weekly ritual challenge rewards to Exotic engrams to give everyone consistent sources of materials to focus the exact Exotic armor they want to run. In Season 22, we’re updating those weekly ritual challenge requirements so players can complete their nine challenges in any ritual playlist they’d like, as opposed to having to complete three each across Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit playlists. We’ll also be increasing the frequency of ritual engram drops after completing ritual activities, and we’re making the latest ritual loot pool weapons focusable at their respective vendors at the start of the Season for the first time, rather than needing to wait until the following Season to chase those god rolls." No where in there is it mentioned that the weekly challenge rewards will no longer be pinnacles.

The weekly challenges were changed from pinnacles to exotics at the start of last season. This was done since there is no more seasonal level increase. The bug causing pinnacles to start dropping again, despite still saying exotic in the director, was fixed in the last patch. I'll check it out. Where would you recommend reading? All I know that the weekly ritual challenges have dropped pinnacles for pretty much as long as I've played the game, that's all I'm basing it off of. I very well could have missed something in between here and there I guess. :)

Some point in season of defiance, there was a TWAB that announced that since the pinnacle cap wasn’t being raised, they were converting ritual challenge rewards to exotic engrams instead. It will be easier to find the patch notes for season of the deep rather than the TWAB with the announcements.

That's too bad. It was a better system when you could do 3 of each ritual and get a pinnacle.

So streamers could get to to right level for new raid now it's done bk to the hamster wheel you go

Why are you crying about the game all the time if you don't play it? New system is literally millions times better because now you can get 3 exotics by just playing 9 pvp/gambit matches or strikes. Pinnacle engrams are useless then you hit max level and it's not like they removed them completely, just swapped around sources

They aren't, but 1810 is the max cap since lightfall release, I mean I understand that if you just started to play the game it might be useful, but if you don't play much it's not really Bungie's fault and the amount of pinnacle rewards are still the same, for the vast majority of players it's much useful to get exotics than pinnacle rewards, which aren't helpful at all

Yeah I hear ya, and don't disagree, it's just a shame that they had to do the ol' flip flop on it. The weekly ritual challenges used to drop pinnacles and it has been stated by Bungie in numerous instances that players would be able to earn those pinnacles in their own way, example "In Season 22, we’re updating those weekly ritual challenge requirements so players can complete their nine challenges in any ritual playlist they’d like, as opposed to having to complete three each across Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit playlists." (verbatim from the recent Sate of The Game update.). That was actually an exciting moment for many folks still working towards 1810 to know that they would no longer need to play content that they despised in order to earn the pinnacles. I'm not surprised at the bait and switch though, Bungie has been well versed in it over the years. I guess if they really wanted to they could keep to their word and make their customers happy by just making the exotics pinnacles. I won't hold my breath though.

Then you wouldn't been able to get weapons from them. It doesn't affect vast majority of players and that's probably why it's going to stay the same
