The point of bonus power levels is to allow low players a way that isn’t pinnacles to get to the level where they can do more content. Like if you’re doing end game already it has no point but if you aren’t an end game player it gives you a way to open up higher difficulty content. Lower players shouldn’t have their avenues removed to suit the already end game playing players.

  • I can see your point, but it takes a lot of XP to reach a meaningful XP Level bonus you need to reach Rank 80-100 in the season pass to get to a +10. So it kind of requires a great number of XP that lower level players/more casual players will take a lot longer to get versus doing powerful/pinnacle activities like Strikes and Crucible to raise their level. So, in my opinion, it feels like the hard core player base feels this more as they play more and earn more XP and thus increase their level well beyond necessary and the hard level cap for some activities. However, I do agree in that having the XP Bonus levels gives lower levels an alternative and simultaneous source to raise their level to reach the endgame. It is something I failed to consider when making this post originally.

  • If you’re a low rank player you’ve got like a max of 4 pinnacles a week you can easily do. Even a +10 which isn’t that hard of a bounty grind while getting your pinnacles opens up lfg options which can round out your weekly pinnacles. Also if you neglect a character it can help them be able to access things. Like when duality came out the only reason my warlock could do it was bonus power levels because I’d sort of neglected it.
