This happened when they introduced CBMM. The matches are completely unbalanced now. Numbers of players playing crucible dropping fast. Not only trials. In my opinion Bungie should ignore the sweats looking for easy matches and instead look for a way to make it fun and challenging for everyone without making it feel impossible. At least you will keep a player base actually willing to play crucible. Unfortunate for the players who do carries or sweats looking for easy matches to boost their ego in the form of stats but I think Bungie should go this way.

  • Every game has some kind of skill based matchmaking. EVERY. SINGLE ONE. I have never, EVER played against guys from master league while I played Apex as a casual. Never. As a beginner in Destiny, I played against pros and streamers many times.

  • SBMM did kill pvp. The population was horrible, the lag was awful, and the wait times were brutal. Blaming the population drop now on CBMM is hilarious. As if it has nothing to do with the fact crucible gets no maps, the meta is one of, if not the worst it has EVER been, there's literally no reason to play crucible, no new modes ever get added, and the broken lobby balancing that Bungie continues to ignore. You think people want to play crucible when it's like playing the exact same thing from 3 years ago? People are bored of it and the meta is hot garbage. Who in the right mind would go in there?

Wait-times haven't changed at best, I'd argue they've gotten worse but I haven't timed it. There's only so much the lobby-balance can do when the lobby is filled with people with vastly different skill-levels. It's just trying to make an even match. It won't succeed, no matter how it balances the lobby the low skilled players WILL get curbstomped. The high-skilled players WILL curbstomp.

  • They balance the lobby by putting 5 of the worst players on the same team. That is the worst balancing I have ever seen in a game. If you believe they can't do better than that then whatever. It's honestly pathetic that they've left it like this for so long. A simple snake draft would be 100x better than this. You're also posting numbers from when there was a ton of great loot in pvp compared to zero loot inventive/stasis breaking pvp/etc. Sbmm is a cancer in casual modes. There's a reason communities in every other game that has sbmm want it removed. It doesn't belong except for in comp/ranked.
