Changing the orb generation system was the most annoying and terrible idea ever. I read that it’s bc of the new weapon perks, which are also absolutely appalling in the sense that they represent low-key sunsetting again but I won’t go into that.
Building around elemental wells is utter garbage. The system is just not cut out for endgame content. You basically need to change the affinity of your armor each time you change your subclass - maybe not all pieces but some. And too many mods are based on getting kills with a specific element of something, which makes it completely useless for GMs, for example.
Same goes for the orb generation mods. How do I rapidly defeat enemies with a kinetic weapon in a GM when I’m forced to run double primary and the red-bar enemies take like an entire mag of my scout rifle to drop. Even if they took only like 4-5 rounds it would still be too slow. Unless you have Witherhoard or something, for which there’s no champion mod, or you run like Trinity Ghoul, use the energy mod and are on arc subclass (unlikely in a GM again), this is just a pain.
I’m not writing this as a discussion really. I find the level of incompetence that is displayed in changes like these absolutely mind-blowing. Meanwhile Bungie employees are congratulating each other on their great work on Twitter while being cheered on by a minor percentage of hardcore player who would literally take everything this company shoves down their throat and say thank you.
Also, weapon crafting is the worst thing I’ve ever seen and my Glaive is like level 7 bc there’s zero incentive. What a let-down this expansion/season is… unbelievable.

4 回覆In the age of ability spam, I have found wells to be awesome and totally replaced my CWL builds. I get just about all of my abilities back in 10 seconds or less and my super back in 1.5 mins. Charged with light took 2+ mins to return my super and it took more than 30 seconds to get my abilities back. I no longer create orbs or run ANY CWL mods at all. I hated them at first because I didn't understand the synergy of them. After using them for 1 season I'll never go back to CWL mods.

8 回覆Shoot witherhoard at overload. Switch to overload SMG ... Witherhoard counts as overload now.

3 回覆Kinda wish they kept Warmind cell builds relevant, would've been inreresting to mix and match "Wells with Cells".

It’s basically not compared with each other. Utility and ways of play are totally different. CwL are mostly single player oriented while Well mods not only provide multiple benifits at once with one well pick up while also providing more team synergie aue they benifit of the same wells as you. What is missing for me is the lack of variation of mods available for crux! Well builds would be OP in there for sure, but currently on CWL mode are useful in there, and they are greatly impeded by the new orbs of light system in place. Well builds are excellent for PvE and team assistance, but crux is in desperate need of some updates to the special mod slot.
not to mention new maps aswel. But that a different topic 😉
I’m at the point I use them only to get my abilities back. Mods that are time limited are just not useful I find. I prefer high energy fire because it stays forever until you get a kill, not 10 seconds you have to hurry to use.
-
2 回覆Clearly you’ve never used a well build. With my current build I pretty much constantly have all of my abilities up as long as I can get a grenade kill or two.

5 回覆Personally I find well builds too niche for my use. Voids will go away next season. They just nerfed the Palmyra to count the stasis wells. My original scavenger and finder build was really all I needed for endgame content.

由Illuminary編輯: 4/24/2022 3:44:38 PMWells are fine, you just need to be slightly more creative. My go to in GMs is stasis using elemental shards, font of wisdom, font of might if I'm running matching weapons, supreme wellmaker, melee wellmaker, and well of restoration. With stasis you get a free tracking using conduction fragment, then I run hedrons, rime, and chains. I run turret and glacial harvest and shards are up all the time. If I'm running a raid I'll go font of might, font of wisdom, high energy fire, and elemental charge usually. I'll use one elemental ordnance mod to get that all going. And you can also discuss your set up with your team so that their wells help you also.

I’ve enjoyed building void and stasis sets this season using the new mods. Felt they both were good. Mind you, Hunter and Warlock seem superior to Titan. (The Titan is decent with the exotic helmet and solar subclass-not so much with void or stasis in my opinion) However, I ran the raid yesterday with a complete ARC build on my Hunter and my charged with light mod setup from previous seasons. Same Wild Hunt armour that everyone had access to from the seasons pass. My build is equipped to view. Didn’t have any real issues. I was enjoying spamming the double skip grenades. I feel both offer good PVE gameplay options with neither being substantially better than the other. I do notice less orb generation however and agree that this change was not that great.

Well builds are actually really really good in certain instances. For instance, I run a partial well/charged with light build with Peregrine greaves in most GM's. Great for erasing champions and quickly getting my melee back (via heavy handed). For other GMs with lots of adds, I like to run a grenade well build on solar to spam grenades. Works great with bottom tree Sunbreaker in the Hollowed Lair GM boss room. I basically constantly throw grenades at every group of enemies that spawns. However, I agree that having the orb creation mods on the helm is absolutely stupid. Those mods should just always be active an part of the game for all exotics and all masterworked weapons.

2 回覆??? Well builds can be extremely easy to make use of and charged with light builds are only ever so slightly more difficult to use this season. I think this is just user error.
-
3 回覆Am I missing something here? Can you no longer make a charge with light build? If not, what's stopping you? No one's forcing you to run Elemental Well.
-
For me on my Lock, i absolute love my void, arc and solar well builds which l have saved on dim I'm happy to where l get my nade and melee back in seconds. Bungie is very out of touch with its community when it comes to what people like. They are great at turning anything that people enjoy to garbage

I know it's all about opinions but I think well builds are bang on. Any class. I don't miss orb generation one bit and I want to use high energy fire or other charged mods I just use elemental charge. One of the best parts of the game for me.
