Honestly... i do not feel like perks actually matters on glaives.
The shooting is just there when you want to charge the shield or to stun something allowing you to get close...
But besides that shooting doesnt feel great, doesnt deal good damage, and travel time is horrible.
Even acolytes manages to dodge.
Most of the time you have to shoot at close range to land your hits..but at this point..just melee.
Combined with the way the shield, the perks works..
Glaives could use a good rework, and the people who designed those should probably stay away from game design for a while.

I think that's unnecessarily harsh. They are extremely fun to use in my opinion, they really nailed the feel, it's just their balance is underwhelming. I don't feel their damage is substantial enough to justify bringing them as a special weapon in PvE and many perks not working with the melee in PvP makes it less viable also.

The good feel of those weapons comes from the melee part and blocking That isnt working with 90% of the perks. While the shooting is lacking in everything (damage/rate of fire/ range /projectile speed / no aoe dmg / total ammo reserves) And yet every perks encourages you to use the shooting mode that is average at best

I agree they have problems for sure! They're underwhelming in terms of their power, and I think that's the general community feel, so I'm hoping that prompts Bungie to make a balance pass for them. I imagine they may be tough to balance though. For one thing, I think having the very strong shield as a utility plays a part in needing the rest of the weapon to be underwhelming, but I'm not sure. Changes would be welcome though, but I still feel they nailed the fun factor
