Number one at first you said PC and then you clarified it's a Laptop. Laptops no matter the specs are "NOT" recommended for playing D2. Bungie has clearly stated that yes it may play D2 but they do not offer any support for any laptops. I played D2 just fine on my laptop nearly a year ago when I bought it i7 10750 six core cpu and RTX 2060. It was far to hot to keep playing it all the time so I switched back over to Xbox One X. It never crashed it never acted up but the temps were near 90c all the time. Laptops just run hot and on a demanding game like this I would never try to play it with 180f heat blasting away out the thing all day ever again. Short answer there is no help for this problem other than my suggestion don't play D2 on that machine or you will continue to have problems. Xbox One X 4k and 30fps smooth as silk. I gave up the higher framerates @ 1080p and I am happy till I get a Series X hopefully soon.

  • You are welcome I'm just giving you my useless opinion haha. This game is quite demanding especially with all the physics going on with supers it's always pushing the hardware to the limits. Put on a program that lets you watch the cpu and gpu usage and temperatures. HWInfo is the one I used to use. It gives all the real time stats of what's going on right in the taskbar. My guess is that the temps are going to shock you how hot they run. I just went back to the stability of console it's been much better for me giving up the framerate kind sucked at first but get used to it. Steady 30fps @ 4k to me is far better than 1080p @ 100 and then it drops then it spikes.
