These mods only further amplify an issue introduced with holders tbh. Nobody uses them because there is no room on armor to support the sheer energy cost and their inferiority over scav mods.
It’s going to be the same here, nobody wants to remove finders since they are just too superior. If the mod worked for all guns then maybe but they will only work for specific elements which is even worse since MAX 2 guns will make orbs.
Although the artefact change is good, it’s another 1 step forward and 2 steps back with the orb nerf…

I'll upvote this! It's a lame idea. May be useful to the ones who dedicate their time in pvp since bungie has extended cooldowns there. Orbs for pvp and champion mods for pve. Eh, they're going to do what they want.

So that's 2 mod slots gone because I want my kinetic and energy weapon to create orbs. 🤦♂️ This is a god awful change.

As if armor isn't already suffering from mod congestion already. This orb of power mod is just stupid. We already have barely enough space for the mods we want to run as is. I wish the kill tracker and orbs on multikills we're already a thing on exotics without needed a catalyst for it. As for Master working in general, the material sink isn't even worth the +10 stat bump, which is downright meaningless in most cases anyways. I just do it for the orbs on kills.

100% especially because it is tied to a certain element! It is so freaking annoying. I used countless of ascendants shards to reroll armor, I made a built where I have to pick up a single orb of power fast and now this, of course. First the super in tiers BS. Intellect nerf. Resilience buff. Constantly having to swap and change Armor!

Was about to pre order witch queen . But I think I’ll hold off for it but. It makes no sense giving my money on a game.that really don’t respect there players time and honestly they just fine ways to drain all the fun out of the game

Ill hold my opinion on this until they give us the “good news” but like Datto said, why tf make us wait. Somethings up, I don’t like it. So far my take is, leave it on masterwork weapons and add the mods which would be nice because you don’t have to spend materials just to make a build work.

now they only said it needs a helmet mod and thats all nothing on is it elemental based, is it blanket type mod, how much energy does it use if any, is there a special slot for it like raid armor plus ammo finder mods are hit or miss when they work most of the time in my expense its more miss then hit so me personally if it doesn't have a special slot I wouldn't mind that

I agree with 99.9% of your post. Ammo finders often do not work anyway. It's either feast or famine using them and for me it's mostly famine. The armour mod system is too convoluted.... way too much time (and thats what Bungie wants) is spent changing mods to suite the event your'e engaging as it is. Why they do this sort of thing is mind bogling.

Don't kid yourself. It's a stealth nerf. I suspect they may be changing armor with the DLC to have a seasonal mod slot though. It's in line with past underhandedness. In other words,they have people grinding the Master dungeon to get armor with a seasonal mod slot. Then in a month they'll make all that grinding obsolete by putting that feature on all armor.

Does anyone at bungie even play any type of endgame pve seriously this change is garbage. Completely out of touch especially without an explanation. Yeah they may surprise us with some new mechanic that helps with orbs but otherwise this is garbage. Like oh let me sacrifice finder mods for orbs.
