No they don't. Does it do anything no. All too often on these forums I have seen people cry wolf. This causes innocent players to be labelled cheaters. Bungie has provided multiple ways to report others you SUSPECT of cheating to stop persecution of innocent players and help Bungie staff to identify the true cheaters.

Do you really think that guy in that video is innocent? You are kidding yourself if so. Dude was guilty AF! Reports don't always solve the problem, either. If more people were shamed for their asinine behavior, more good people could stay away from those toxic ones.

What did name and shame do.... NOTHING. Is it going to stop a person playing.... no. Is it going to stop them cheating... no. All it does is bring hate. And what happens if the person named did nothing. How many times I have seen people cry Ddoss or aimbot when it was the person doing the name and shame having connection issues and due to reading these forum jumped to conclusions..... dozens of times. Name and shame brings in a mob mentality where people presume guilty not if that individual is guilty. If that person wants to identify themselves by crying on these forums about being banned it is up to them.... not you. Bungie is the police and the courts not you. Use the report systems provided not your mouth shouting guilty.

You didn't answer the question. Was the person in the video innocent of cheating? So accusing them of cheating isn't exactly an empty accusation, is it? Absolutely, accusing an innocent person of cheating isn't cool. But in the case of the above video, when you report them and nothing is done about it, it also breeds hate towards the game developer as well. The fact that you are defending the person in the video seems really weird to me. I'm not saying accusing someone without firm evidence is OK, and Bungie should absolutely be the avenue for complaints, but in all honesty, I see nothing wrong with providing evidence of that sort of cheating. Personally, I wouldn't do it in the forums, because as you pointed out, it's against ToS, but a stronger stance needs to be taken so the cheaters don't win.
