Every single one of these posts translates to some version of
It takes no skill to kill me, but if I kill you, that takes skill.
Not sure that’s the own people think it is.
I can put on pretty much anything and run a lobby. I’m not a top 0.01%er, I’m a top 2-3%er in most playlists.
When I get killed by a bot with no thumbs who sprays like a child with a GL and clips me for 70% of my health knocking me off a streak, it’s not something I can anticipate.
I see a shotgun, I backpedal and play my lanes. I see a sniper and I slide in and try to get some suppression shots. If it’s a fusion I try to dip in and out of cover. But tell me, please tell me. If I wrap around a corner - without three-peeking because that’s being removed - and I see a GL, what am I supposed to do? It has no falloff, it has high damage, and it’s AoE.
Did Mountaintop take skill? No. You shot it at the ground near someone’s toes and finished them off. People are discovering now that all GLs are functionally the same, and the small small small margin of skill/skill ceiling required to learn the timing is not equitable to the discipline required for space management, good precharging, or pinpoint accuracy of other special weapons.
I’m not infallible. I don’t think I’m a god or criticize everyone around me for being unskilled. Never once will I call out shotguns like every other player on the forums. It’s GLs and they’re stupid.
