IV: Knife Talks - A D2 Short Story

IV: Knife Talks – A D2 Short Story
AIIIEEE!! DRAMA!! TEAM TETRYS!!
Tetra Penelope Alexandra Von Haarodrein was furious. She felt this way because her primary instructor, an old, wispy Hunter had deducted points on her exam because she, quote, “did not list the correct type of metal the knife should be made with.” A knife was a knife, Tetra thinks to herself. Whether it’s made from one metal or another won’t—in her opinion—make a difference on whether she kills her foes. One knife was better than no knife, just like one gun was better than no gun. To Tetra, they were one and the same. So she was mad. “Steamed,” Trinity, her Ghost had commented flatly. “I mean, you look like you could take out the Cabal on your own.” She definitely felt like she could take out the Cabal on her own. “Hey,” a familiar voice calls to her left. She restrains the urge to clear her throat and push aside her wispy brown hair as Rys approaches, hands clasped behind his back in a professional manner. “You look upset,” he notes. “Do I?” she rolls her eyes. “I hadn’t noticed. Trinity's been letting me know ALL about it.” “I take pride in my work,” Trinity responds, looking away. “I'm not sorry.” Tetra rolls her eyes again. “A little bird told me what happened, “ Rys continues with a knowing expression. “You missed a point because of a knife question.” “That’s the gist, yeah.” “Want to talk about it?” Tetra shouts and slams her fist into a pillar, and Trinity heals it before it could even start to hurt. “It's less the fact that I answered my favorite type of question wrong and more that Miss Gertrude labeled it as such. I mean…!” Rys nods patiently, waiting. “And the question asked about the velocity of the knife relative to throwing speed and target distance, not material. It wasn’t even mentioned!” “Tetra.” “I bet you Bobby Simmons got it. Oh, he’s such a snob. Always the teacher’s pet…” “Tetra!” Rys says more forcefully. Tetra looks at him, taken aback. “Is that missed point the biggest thing in the world?” As much as she wanted it to be so, she doesn’t answer as such. “No.” “Will this affect the next hour, tomorrow, or even a year from now?” “No.” Tetra could see where he was going with this. Rys grasps her shoulders firmly. “Then move on already.” For a brief moment, Tetra wondered where she would be without Rys’ kind frankness. She would be worse off, for sure. Without Rys, she might as well be snooty Bobby Simmons. His firm and honest stance was like a wall she repeatedly slammed against. He was willing to call her out when it came to her failures, and it made her all the better for it. Tetra blinks, and finds Rys grinning his absolutely idiotic grin at her. She smiles back, uncertain. “Why are you looking a me like that?” “Your angry face went away, and you now have the “I forgot how much I love Rys” face. It’s a cute face.” “Well…” Tetra blushes, shakes off Rys’ hands with embarrassment and crosses her arms. “You are my favorite Warlock.” “I'm deeply touched, madam.” Now Tetra smiles stupidly before interlocking her hand in his. “Thanks, Rys.” He squeezes and straightens a little. “Anytime, Tetra.” “Just…not all the time. Right?” Rys only winks playfully.
No knives were harmed in the making of this story.

John Stalvern was furious. She felt this way because her primary instructor, Cernal Joson had deducted points on her exam because she, quote, “did not list the correct type of metal the palsma rifle should be made with.” A cyberdemon was a cyberdemon, John thinks to herself. Whether it’s made from one metal or another won’t—in her opinion—make a difference on whether she kills the demons. One space marine was better than no space marine, just like one rocket missiles was better than no rocket missiles. To John, they were one and the same. So she was mad. “This is Joson,” Joson, her Cernal had commented flatly. “I mean, you look like you must fight the demons!” She definitely felt like she could take out the demons on her own. “No!” a familiar voice crackered over the radio. She restrains the urge to clear her throat and push aside her wispy brown hair as his dad approaches, hands clasped behind his back in a professional manner. “You will BE KILL BY DEMONS” he notes. “Do I?” she rolls her eyes. “I hadn’t noticed. Trinity's been letting me know ALL about it.” “I want to be on the ships daddy” John responds, looking away. “I'm not sorry.” Joson rolls her eyes again. “A little bird told me there were demons in the base “ John didn’t see them, but had expected them now for years. “You missed a point because His warnings to Cernel Joson were not listenend to and now it was too late.” “Far too late for now, anyway.” “But now in the space station base of the UAC he knew there were demons.” So John gotted his palsma rifle and blew up the pillar, and the cyberdemon fired the rocket missiles before it could even start to hurt. “It's less the fact that I answered my favorite type of question wrong and more that he going to kill us!”said the demons. John Stalvern, waited. “And the question asked about the velocity of the plasma relative to throwing speed and demon distance, not material. It wasn’t even mentioned!” The lights above him blinks, and sparked out of the air finds demons grinning his absolutely idiotic grin at her. She smiles back, uncertain. “Why are there were demons in the base.” “Your angry face went away, and you now have the “I forgot how much I love to kill the demons” face. It’s a cute face.” “Well…” John was a space marine for fourteen years, shakes off the cyberdemons’ hands with embarrassment and crosses her arms. There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. "I will shoot at him" said the cyberdemon and he fired the rocket missiles. John plasmaed at him and tried to blew him up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill. "No! I must kill the demons" he shouted The radio only winks playfully said “No, John. You are the demons"
No john were harmed in the making of this zombie.
