I'm going to throw this out there that I think I might have an idea why so many are upset. Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't this compnay been in business for 30 years? 30 years is a long ass time to pretend they made a "mistake". Again, correct me if I'm wrong. Didn't they sunset D1 year 1 loot capping it at 170, and if so, shouldn't this company 5 years later know what they are doing when they used that method that there shouldn't have ever been any "mistakes" when sunsetting? Once again, correct me if I'm wrong. Is it safe to say they are once again playing off the community weakness looking for sympathy saying "we are listening" when they made some of the loot from the moon and dreaming city relevant? Sorry, not sorry Bungie fans. Enough is enough of the nonsense this company pulls. You can't defend this no matter how hard you try to reward their deliberate poor actions. There was no excuse at all for what took place knowing how poorly they handle this. The poor Bungie nonsense doesn't work anymore. 30 years is enough for any company to know what they are doing and to say they didn't know is BS, it's a game and not a fun one they are playing.

  • Wouldn't be that hard to make the mistake. Look at the data, find out how many weapon see actual use, and pair down the amount of viable weapons to roughly that amount. Go with the year cut off and fill in the numbers with select reprisals before the sunset takes place. Likewise they could look at the stats and likely find barely any of the weapons from the two locations saw use so it would safe to let them go. The true mistake was taking things from gamers they never were gonna use anyways and expecting no backlash. People complained about the ramen coupon being taken away. But bungie can't really win. People complain about the locations not having any gear, decides to likely go against their plans and reprise select weapons that probably doesn't overshadow future planned weapons and can be added to the locations, and still get shit on by the community. Everyones gotta accept that sunsetting will likely be around for at least a full year and any sunset gear sitting in vaults won't be uncapped even if they change from sunsetting. It's permanent at worst and a total gear reset at best. If neither of those are acceptable for you this is the reason to stop playing and find another game.

    What you said is basic using data. I'm referring to adding loot to the game, and how it was a "mistake" leaving 90 of the game literally pointless to even play, only to bring back 2 planets to make some of the loot relevant. Then because of their unwillingness to create actual new loot for the game because they charge $10 extra just to get some added to the game, they ended up using old season loot as a filler. Come on now, there are mistakes and then there is Bungie that has constantly made the same mistakes over and over and over again for 6 years now. When does learning from one's mistakes kick in, 6 years, 10 years, etc...? I really love this "mistake" D1 Black hammer was nerfed, then Black spindle comes along and gets the exact same nerf. But wait, 3 times a charm right? Whisper gets the exact same nerf. Come again how it wouldn't be hard to make mistakes, or shall I say deliberate poor actions?

  • I'm just saying considering such thing as a vocal minority exist you gotta go off of data and the data likely said these were safe choices. They probably would have sunset the locations if they didn't want to use them as settings for seasonal content. I view these weapons being reprised as les of fixing a mistake and more of "there we gave you a thing now stop -blam!- about the locations not having a use". Now they have a use and the fault will now fall on to us if we don't use it.

  • The problem with going off of data as this company mainly does even the sandbox, and not playing the game? you are not getting the actual results the game needs. It's like how they said they wanted the weapons to feel the same across the entire board. That is impossible having 2 totally different game modes that give 2 totally different experiences, you will always have issues in both game mode because of it and you will ruin the experience with one or the other and that is a fact Bungie refuses to face, and they used that as an excuse not to separate the sandbox. So using mainly only data is a huge blind mistake.
