Earn a weapon. You won’t be able to use it down the road. Why bungie?

2 回覆Sunsetting items is one of the dumbest things destiny has ever tried.... They claim its to get more players to try different weapons out... But all their new weapons SUCK. Also they made it so all my collectable armor sets (I spent YEARS getting) are now toilet paper... We all know what toilet paper is used for... I have never wanted to quit Destiny more then I do now.... I feel like Ive wasted my time playing this game now. My character is now no different then anyone just starting the game for the first time... :(

2 回覆But, power creep though. Somehow, even earning the same weapons that were sunset prevents it.

由Fluthni編輯: 12/30/2020 5:32:22 AMBecause luke smith has no idea how to make a game balanced and fun for the community. The first problem sunsetting has created is making all of our hard earned and grinded for gear useless in the long run. Secondly it makes power creep skyrocket, look at the guns from previous seasons like season of arrivals and season of the worthy and compare it to now. In season of the worthy the guns were fair and balanced each being good in their own rights. But now we have weapons like heritage which can slowly reload itself until DOUBLE capacity. And before you make the arguement of "BuT pOwEr CrEeP" IT'S ALREADY HAPPENING. Eyes of tomorrow and the DSC raid weapons are the literal result of power creep and a lack of certain weapon architypes because of sunsetting. Look at any year 1 exotic and compare it to any exotic released after shadowkeep. Look at any year 1 weapon perk and compare it to beyond light weapon perks. My point is power creep will happen regardless of sunsetting or no sunsetting and i'd rather use my hard earned and PAID for guns and armor that look and feel nice rather than luke smiths poor excuse for weapon balancing. Luke smith needs to be sunset, not our gear.

5 回覆Congratulations! You're the 50th person to say you don't like sunsetting! Tell em what's he's won Joe! Joe: A Luna's howl! Straight from the kiosk, you'll be able to experience what it's like to hold it!

20 回覆由Fish編輯: 12/28/2020 8:55:18 AMSunsetting is a necessary evil. Bungie has already proved that they can't make interesting new weapons with few acceptions. Idk about you but I use only a handful of weapons per season. If it weren't for sunsetting we would just see the same cycle of nerfing everything. You're all sheep with no nuance or individuality. Wah, they sunset my gear and made me use new weapons. I mean it was just last year we were complaing about weapon classes getting blanket nerfed. Now they cooled off on the blanket nerfs and instead have good weapons cycle in and out which solves power creep. Guess I'll just complain about sunsetting now.

I played 3 toons from beta to 1 toon in Shawdowkeep and took a year off. I really liked the forges and menagerie, but all thats gone. The new perks SUCK. To add insult to injury anything "good" I get has an expiration date. I'm not farming a good roll for something that's going to expire and I'm NOT masterworking anything. I ran 700 odd forges to get rolls on my guns to get shelved.. I'm definitely not giving 2 fux about any new guns that have a shelf life stamped on them. Id rather do what Borderlands does and have specific drops from certain bosses to gear up after a certain power level than this. These stingy loot drops are pathetic for something thats only going to last a year at most. I hear the cheerleaders that cry "YoU HaD iT FoR a YeAr!!" when the roll you wanted dropped a month or two before it gets deleted.

由Tri-Dragon47編輯: 12/29/2020 3:35:08 AMTrue, but as FELWINTER'S LIE.... I am looking forward as sun setting..... range of gunshot pure bs. Powerful gun, but range is turn it like joke.... I was far way from away from enemy fire. I get hit and died ( I have high resistance).....

4 回覆After a year ...... outside of maybe 10% of weapons you get, you won’t use the weapons you get now even 6 months down the road. This is because sunsetting sucks for you because you can’t crutch a weapon forever, and the fact that you have issue with it means you’re one of the people that gets a gun and crutches it forever. Sunsetting is making you change, and you clearly don’t like change.
-
I think that every weapon having a 1 year life sentence is bullshit, and the exact opposite of what sunsetting should be doing. Overall, how did bungo -blam!- up this hard on something they had down to a science?
-
5 回覆I’m starting to see the issue with sun setting even though I was previously supportive of it. In like 2 seasons, there will literally be no replacement for many archetypes of weapons...

10 回覆Because loot games can't let you keep power forever. If they do, it winds up breaking the game. 1. No one is going to chase after loot that is less powerful than they already have. 2. If you keep making the loot more and more powerful, you break the game. 3. If you retune the game to the higher level of power, you make the problem worse. You force people to use the gear items that are overpowered, or risk handicapping themselves. Turning them into Golden Handcuffs. Worse you make the game tediously difficult to borderline unplayable for those without them. Which is why loot games dont' let you keep stuff forever.

2 回覆I've purchased and played every season until this one. I've never been interested in 'the chase', I find a handful of weapons I enjoy and play with them until something funner happens to come along. Old guns reskinned or ever so slightly adjusted are not 'new content'. It's like the game I loved and payed for has been taken away. Regardless of how others feel, this is how I feel. Balancing old weapons was not the problem. Reselling those weapons was the issue. Tell me that year one 'red mamba' presented a balance problem. Sunsetting is the Joke.

2 回覆When a game garners a cult following with players willing to ignore everything the devs stop caring. Plenty of FOMO every season, p2w (stasis, No Time to Explain), no customer support at all, deteriorating game performance with every patch, sunsetting. But people just keep paying and playing and are relatively quiet about the problems.

43 回覆由joanespotatos編輯: 12/27/2020 4:23:30 PMSunsetting is not a joke. Its a dead horse, that you people bring back because you refuse to let it go. Theres no fun in a discussion about sunsetting, because theres nothing to do about it anymore. Just let it die in the little peace it still has.
-
Better yet, they admitted that there wasn’t enough guns shipped in beyond light, and then they added old weapons back in the loot pool like the seventh seraph guns, which will only be good for one and a half more seasons. Lol.
-
Id be fine with them sunsetting pinnacles. Currently they made the seraph weapons basically the best and only ones to own. Armor sunsetting still makes zero sense and is completely pointless. Currently though the amount sunset isn't covered by the amount that's new and thats the biggest problem. Nothing worthwhile or truly new.
-
Yeah, sunsetting is stupid af , pointless, and removes variety in this already stale game, it was nice during year 3 nightfalls/nightmare hunts to be able to have many different options, but now, if I wanna use an anti barrier void gun, it has to be a either a crappy blue smg, the last perdition pulse, or graviton lance, which is not going to happen in a legend/master since I’d rather use anarchy/xeno/lament. Sole reason for sunsetting was because the pinnacles were too op, but now they are abysmal and got dropped to the ground like a 12 year old lad’s balls when he grows his first chest hair. There’s no reason to be sunsetting stuff now, it’s just laziness and an insane way to force us to grind for our stuff back when they decide to reintroduce it instead of balancing stuff.
