Elemental Shields, Stasis and Weapon Elements

Hi, I was just hoping for some thoughts from other people on this topic. At the moment we have 3 weapon elements and 3 shield types to match these elements. I would love to see more stasis element weapons that serve a purpose but there is a roadblock. The current system of 3 shield types makes adding a 4th element to the wheel difficult because of things like match game and loadout limitations in activities that require shield breaking. I have a solution that I want input for; as we've seen with the seasonal artifact we can have mods that operate over a pair of elements, my Idea is we do the same for shields, we pair up elements (one dark, one light) and have them be capable of dealing with a single shield. The first one is obvious, Solar and Stasis can be used to overload "thermal" shields. Now there may need to be some animation changes to make this more visible and this still has a slight loadout limit on the player but this leaves us with room to expand into 2 other Darkness elements and keep the 3 shield system, keep match-game, make loadout choices stayimportant and relevent in locked activities. There is a lot to be said on this new element and balancing. Imagine Destiny 2 in Lightfall, we have Stasis+Solar=Thermal, Void+Poison(maybe, would be dope)=Entropic Arc+(i dunno but it will probably be badass)=(a 3rd new shield) Guns can drop with all 6 elements, all 3 shields are still breakable, modifiers like match game can come to the table, maybe Singes can be stacked up to? What do you guys think?
