Same thing happening on my Series X. Had it happen twice in about 8 hours on Tuesday but it happened everyone 3-4 crucible games on Wednesday. Xbox Support told me it wasn't a hardware issue and that Bungie would patch it. I don't believe it's a Bungie issue because my friend hasn't had a single problem on his Series X.

I have the exact same issue you described. I had no issue before the update. After the optimization update for Destiny 2: Beyond Light it has been a mess. I do not own any other games to test. This is the only game on my XBSX. I played for about 2 hours after the update before the first crash / shutdown. It has now started happen about every 20 minutes. I can not even finish a strike in D2 without it crashing. Question, Do you play on a monitor or a tv? I do not have a tv to test this, but I have a friend with a XBSX that has not had the first issue. He plays on a new HDMI 2.1 120hx tv though.

Yeah my buddy as well doesn't have a single issue (playing on XSX as well). I had a crash every 2 lost sector attempts, always in the boss room, then in iron banner, and later in patrol... Haven't had time to test another game for a long session to see if the freeze happens as well tho.
