I've seen a lot of 'OMG Warlocks Suck in PvP' and 'We Can't Compete'.
Why this might be true in a general sense Warlocks can still throw down. So, my bathrobe brethren, sound off. Tell other Warlocks what you do to succeed in the Crucible.

Hunter here. Once in a blue moon I swap over to my void Walker. I always do really well. I think people focus too much on which class has the “clear advantage”. In my opinion it is how intelligently one plays that determines 99% of the outcome. If you play like a fool it is really easy to just complain that every class but yours is too good. But if you play smart I guarantee you will do well with whatever class you choose. Don’t get me wrong; every time someone ran right through my tether or my fan throwing knives all hit and did like 30 damage I -blam!- and moaned about other class’s supers or OHK abilities. But I am sure people complained about my rolling and jumping as well. But the point is that all of it is moot if you have poor map awareness or cannot stop yourself for running in Rambo. -

If I tell people then more stuff will just get nerfed. At least I got to enjoy novawarp for a year. The smart warlocks already know were the best class.

由Lucy_the_Lunatic編輯: 3/10/2020 3:20:11 AMI used to be a hunter and for the past few months found out that I'm a warlock through and through. Nova middle, hard light, a hand canon and nothing but PvP for the past two weeks and my titan brother and I are ( as shaxx would say) DOMINATING!! So much better than when I was a hunter.

由BozzyTheDrummer編輯: 3/11/2020 6:57:43 PMI have dedicated my Warlock to PvP. I reun either bottom tree dawnbreaker with transversive steps, or bottom tree stormcaller with getaway artist. Bottom tree Dawkbreaker is nice because the flames track. Haven’t tried top tree yet. I use transversive steps with burst glide to make up for how slow the warlock feels to me. And because I don’t really know which exotic pairs well with this class. I really like running bottom tree storm caller for the arc souls that hovers over me and allies when I lay down a rift. Little extra fire power. I use getaway artist to consume my grenade to have another arc soul to hover around. This setup has been the most successful for me. Just last night I went on a 6 win streak in survival, with randoms. I’m not too big on nova warp. The super feels weird to control for me. I felt real guilty using handheld supernova. Played the class for a few rounds last week and switched back to arc. Edit. The arc souls also really help for extra firepower when I’m getting caught in a reload and can’t shoot. If I’ve weakened the enemy, the arc souls will sometimes finish off the kill. It’s saved my ass a few times.

Use top tree dawnblade, learn how to dodge boost to be the fastest class and icarus mod everything. That or middle tree void after the super buff prbly

I’ve seen a lot of top tier warlocks using top tree Dawn blade and it’s due to the long range melee and the versatility the double dash gives you while moving in the air

I'm probably one of the few people who still uses bottom tree Dawnblade, and I still absolutely love it. To make it even stranger I fly around with Wings of Sacred Dawn and a bunch of Icarus Grip mods. It's fun catching people from unexpected angles, or surviving things I normally wouldn't because of the damage resistance from Wings. It's similar to top tree's playstyle of course. However, I get my in-air gunplay and accuracy bonuses on-demand, still have my Grenade to use on-demand as an actual Grenade, and I keep my far superior Super. It's really noticeable when fighting top tree Dawnblade players. Because unless they have Heat Rises active I'm almost always the one still floating after an aerial duel. Simply because I have superior, instead of equal, airborne accuracy when they don't have it active. It actually makes me question the usefulness of Heat Rises and its Grenade cost. Because I get the same benefit without that cost, can immediately drop out of the sky when getting shot at by either releasing ADS or using Phoenix Dive (an evade in its own right with the added benefit of health regen), I get the flight extension on weapon hits instead of weapon kills, and can extend my time in the air even more with careful toggling of Glide because ADS with Wings actually toggles it off which preserves Glide's duration. Granted I miss out on the ranged Melee. Though I don't feel that it's a big loss since I get a lot of burn kills off bottom tree's Melee. There's Icarus Dash too I suppose, but I actually prefer Phoenix Dive. Both for the healing, and because most people expect you to dodge sideways, not down. Certainly doesn't seem to save the top tree players I've fought unless they're actually smart and dash behind cover. Fought too many dodgy Hunters for a sideways dodge to be a reliable way to avoid my bullets. I think my favorite part though is the extra distance I gain from people by adding the third dimension to my movement. It's hilarious watching people with close range weapons or shoulder charging Titans trying to chase after me without being able to quite get close enough. It also helps a ton against Supers that have to close a gap to kill you. Even if they manage to kill me they're usually softened up enough where my teammates can finish them off, or they wasted so much time chasing me that their Super outright burned out and they can no longer use it on my team mates. Also, say what you will about the Strafe Glide vs. Burst Glide debate, but I literally fly circles around people with Strafe Glide. Not to mention it has just enough maneuvering speed to turn what would be dead hits from Snipers and Golden Guns into body/grazing shots or outright misses.

Played hunter pretty much all of d2. Switched to warlock midway through season of dawn. Man Warlocks are awesome. I'm always desirable for PvE groups with well. PvP I always felt Warlocks were just slow with a weird jump. Top tree dawnblade changed the game. Easily the most mobile class in PvP. The double air dodge is more useful than the single dodge of hunter. Can ads while flying through the air and it doesn't cancel the jump. Really changes your playstyle when you can easily make use of all three dimensions in a gun fight. Had to relearn all the lanes and corners on maps cause some spots are great for air combat. Use transverse or the double melee gloves with 100 strength. Empowering well one shot body shot snipes, the melee has insane tracking and range. Just a really really fun setup.
-
1. Icarus Dash. Gives Hunter mobility if played right. 2. Transversive Steps. Become fastest guardian class and get into sniper lanes first +Slide distance bonus. 3. Don't rely to much on your super. In most cases you're gonna get: Baragged with the butter knifes, Slamed by a Titan throwing a tantrum, Spectral Spamed or killed with a twiddle stick from 30 meters away. 4. Use blink or mobility based roaming supers (which is the only bonus Warlocks have over Hunters and Titans in supers). Basically: All voids trees, top dawn, top storm. 5. Get to terms with the fact that (a) a player is probably better than you and (b) non Warlocks take less skill overall to benefit from abilities so other character classes are gonna have a natural edge over you.

From a Titan main... Id love to have your Karnstein Armlets perk on a pair of Titan gloves. A big bump of health on every melee kill and then continuous health regen for 8 seconds! That is very strong!

Dude the dream is over you’re basically a boomer in a Ed hardy t shirt with baddazzle jeans Hunters are immune to nerfs even though they are insanely overpowered they get you free 1v3’s
-
It kinda depends on what aspect of Warlocks. Voidwalkers have a great neutral game with things like HHS, Blink, and Devour, but they’re supers are pretty meh. Dawnblade has a very unusual playstyle that is hard for some to master, but can be very beneficial in competitive. The same goes for they’re super. Stormcallers are interesting, because I personally think they’re the best of the 3 subclasses, but I personally never see them in competitive. Abilities like Arc Web and Arc Buddy are absolutely ridiculous at times, and the Stormcaller super is a great super, with Chaos Reach not being as good. But even with Chaos Reach being not as good, you can have it available way more than any other super in the game.

*sips crayon* You can't tell your class that you don't suck and expect upvotes. Shit hunters could do it and would probably get downvoted.

Top tree Dawnblade with Transversive Steps or bust. It’s the “best” of Warlock subclasses but easily the worst super.
