Hunters DESPERATELY Need a Buff

It's come to my attention through copious hours of game play that at this point, hunters are the defacto weakest class. I made a post prior to this but I'll say it again, after playing pvp and pve more and more over the past couple weeks. Here are some of my thoughts on what needs to be buffed, just in general: Pretty much everything. But in all seriousness, these things in particular: Roaming super aoe: Compared to the other supers, like hammers, nova warp, lightning call, hunters are lackluster. Arcstrider is alright, but it has no range. Even the r1, r2 combo only has the range of a shotgun, and there's no aoe besides the slam, which if you're jumping in the air around enough people to warrant one, you're going to get melted. Unlike the striker who can slam while still in the ground, preventing said issue. Golden gun is alright, but the killing potential is very limited in pvp compared to the other class's roaming supers. Wraith is alright, but even then it's very easy to see, so when you go to use it in a circumstance where there's enough guardians gathered to warrant it, it's very easy just to die trying. Grenades: There are very little, if not any grenades that actually kill on their own. I've been killed by many warlock and titan grenades, but just today I walked through a trip mine grenade knowing I'd be just fine afterwards, and I walked away with but a scratch. Meanwhile, lightning grenades continue to rain down, solar grenades from warlocks block off entire hallways, and yet if I see a hunter throw a void grenade, I can still easily go around it. And finally, melee: The hunter melees are not bad, but they could still use help. With warlocks and titans getting more and more melee abilities, hunters have very little viable melees to counter them. Hunters received a buff to a throwing knife, but besides that they haven't gotten much. Now, on my last post, many people commented that hunters are fast. Speed does not make a class. Speed is good for certain select things, but when warlocks are able to use super energy to create a perfect shotgun counter, speed doesn't matter quiet as much. Mind you, I love stompeez. I find them to be a ton of fun. They still do not make up for what hunters lack. Hunters in general do not need a massive buff, but slight buffs to bring them up to par. For the time being, I'm going to going back to titan like I did in D1 when taken king came out, and hammer of sol was literally everything you'd ever want in a class. Please leave a comment about what you think. Try to be peaceful, unlike the prior post where I was just told that I'm *adjusts glasses to read notes* an 'obvious waste of air'. Happy hunting!

  • constuctive stats here: hunter super activation time are the fastest, meaning you can activate your super and use it before the enemy can (if you both cast it at the same time). hunter grenades arent the best i agree but they have the same as warlock but titan's grenade are the strongest. hunter melee is as fast as titan. middle tree arcstrider one shots the enemy or makes them really close to dead (i didnt play this one much so i cant say for sure), golden gun throwing knife does a one shot headshot or as much as a melee hit at longer range. Class abilities........ With 100 mobility, hunters have a 9 seconds cooldown on dodge. 9 -blam!-ING SECONDS. use this with exotics to regain half of your health every 9 seconds or blur the enemy radars every 9 seconds or becoming invisible every 9 seconds... just put your stats in mobility and honestly stop complaining about hunter not being strong enough. Titan with 100 resilience makes a shield every 14 seconds, thats a good one too. Warlocks with 100 recovery (which makes the health regenerate before you can even cast your rift, so really a big -blam!- you from bungie) gives them a rift every 41 seconds. for pve, golden gun with celestial nighthawk still does the most damage of all, tether is the best to help allies, arcstrider clears enemies at an insane rate with raidens flux, blade barrage still is a good overall super with (in my opinion) the best melee ability for hunters. Spectral blades doesnt lose any energy for you spamming r1 but that just makes it good in pvp

  • Heres what im gonna say. No. No buffs. Only Hunter class that needs a buff would be Quiver Tether because that thing is sad a whimpy in both PvE and PvP. But Hunters don't need a buff atm. I think you just need to get good at it. Now this is legit me saying play around more and find something you like rather than complaining on forums about a unnecessary buff. If I was being toxic I would be more like "Git Gud Hunter Main, go work that arc pole!" But not today since it seems you just honestly aren't finding something you like in the playstyle your trying. Honest opinion just run around and try different supers and exotics on Hunter and see what sticks for you. Thats the best advice I can give for venturing outside of Meta Build Youtube videos for the best PvP class. Though its only my opinion against yours, but Hunters are good where they are. I mean they now have a 1 hit throwing knife for peets sake. They have the most versatile 1 hit in the whole game well Warlocks and Titans are limited to close range for their 1 hits.

AHHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA holy shit, you’re right let’s makes hunters have triple jump as their base jump, give them two dodges that have no cool down, and let’s make it so when they jump they get removed from radar! -blam!-ing Hunter mains I swear to god.

      • Hunters do not need a buff. Hunters are the best pvp class in the game best supers best class ability best movement.

        • I think you are so wrong.. but pls explain what you’re would like them to have then.. in my oppinion hunter have the most easy of use. One of the highest skill lvl to get good with one. And all supers are great.

            I agree hunters are weaker but people keep saying we got stompees and dodge. The only one hit ability we have is the new throwing knife and even then we have to be precise. Warlocks have a handheld supernova that kills in one hit and it tracks. It can even kill two people if they are close enough its a spam in the general direction and forget about it ability. They have empowering rifts that can be combined with bows and ariana's that can one hit in crucible. They have a melee ability thats a projectile that tracks. Titan fusion and arc base nades can one hit as well. The bubble does the same crap the empowering rift does with weapons. They have shoulder charge, throwing hammer and exotics that boost their melee damage to a one hit ko. They even have a suppression grenade that can knock people outa their super. Hunters need this grenade on nightstalker just replace the useless void spike nade with a suppression nade. Yes the hunters have that crosscounter exotic gauntlets but that requires u to get hit b4 it procks. The titan melee exotic does not it gives em boosted melee damage instantly. When i see people cry that titans and warlocks are not strong enough i just shake my head and sigh at this BS. When i say hunters are the weakest they say hunters are the most used/ most popular subclass. The bottom tree golden gun needs a longer duration. I can never get the third shit off cuz the duration is so short i feel rushed to use my super causing me to miss my shots. All the other roaming supers last for days. I can understand sixshooter having a short duration but bottom tree needs a longer duration.

            • You realise Nova warp requires you to move slower than every super in game and requires either two hits or opponent's to be weak right?
