Vex Offensive: Final Assault - Opinion

This was really lazy, Bungie. I'm not going to rant and rave like some of the other members here on the forum, but I'm just as disappointed and more than a little irritated. The entire season is named after the titular enemy, the Undying Mind, and yet the Vex Offensive and all that it was supposed to represent feels almost like an afterthought. Besides the end boss, there's no change. The enemies aren't more difficult (it's still 750), the mechanics are the exact same, and the map also didn't receive any alterations. The loot is all but worthless and pretty unappealing. This is eerily similar to the lazy behavior you guys were lambasted for during DLCs like [i]Curse of Osiris[/i] and [i]Warmind[/i] (Escalation Protocols were the only saving grace from the latter). As I wrote in my article, this was a good chance for you to build on top of The Menagerie experience. You should be using these types of game modes as a buffer for players looking to get into raiding. Strikes don't begin to scratch the service. The closest thing you have to a raid for someone who has never stepped into one is The Menagerie. There are mechanics, damage phases, the works. You could have implemented this into the Vex Offensive, and even incorporated some of the mechanics you used in the Garden of Salvation. That way, when people take the step to enter the raid, they won't be completely caught unawares. It's simple, easy, and thoughtful considerations like that which help build a truly remarkable experience. It's sales/customer service 101, which you are in the business of. I'm not sure what you've got in the tank for the following seasons, but it can't be this. [b]Edit[/b]: I saw in another thread that some people were suggesting old weapons from Destiny dropping from the boss since this is a nostalgic encounter (literally from the previous game). I'm against this on principle. Bungie has been double-dipping since D2's release, giving us old content they took away from [i]Destiny[/i] and re-releasing it like it's something new (Truth, The Last Word, Thorn, and nearly every exotic that wasn't in the game at release). I'm tired of that and just like this release, it's insufferably lazy. Create something new and exciting. If you can't, hire people that can.
