Without faith in something, whether it be capitalism, Buddha, Gods, or science, mankind inevitably consumes its weak, at a rate more appropriate to nature’s intention.
Tl;dr
We have these big ol brains but if they’re not directed to something deemed “good,” even if wasteful and inefficient, then I’m really afraid to admit that we become sharp rational savages quite quickly. Probably until we form another faith in something irrational or superstitious again.

Sounds like Nietsche himself could be predicted for. Philosophers shouldn’t be any more surprising than any inevitability. Seems with a long enough brush you could find all of humanity a pattern of predictable behaviors.
