Raids would never get done with matchmaking. Hard nightfalls too. Players would just get farmed and get annoyed. Destiny is social game make some friends join a clan. Anyone who does not see the dangers of matchmaking for everything clearly does not understand the endgame content in destiny 2.

I have done over 100 raids in D2 alone, not to mention all of D1’s raids, and I am a staunch supporter of matchmaking. Why? Because after that many runs, and playing with the worst and best players, and everything in-between, doing a raid that lasts many hours with a team, a short time with another, having people with no mics, inexperienced people, experienced people, you name it. I am not an elitist like some wannabe pro raiders, and I can recognise that matchmaking would have the same exact results: Fast, efficient runs, and slow, long runs, plus some failed ones (even the best raiders fail raids if their team is not knowledgeable or willing/able to learn; no one has a perfect record, especially if he doesn’t have a set team). The people on LFG are not some magical creatures with a brain; they are the same people who’d use matchmaking, but couldn’t because of Bungie’s ineptitude, arbitrary restrictions and stubbornness. Lack of matchmaking is why raids don’t have a big population, as most people just assume you need friends to play them, thus they never do them (I know it’s hard for you to imagine, but not everyone is you; newcomers have a vastly different experience, especially casuals who don’t even use the forums; again, I’ve met everyone). Therefore, there really is no good reason to force us to do Bungie’s job for them have us go outside the game to matchmake every time we want to raid, especially with the shitty drop rates and loot. You like looking up everyone’s stats? The majority doesn’t. Why should a game cater to a minority? Also, you could still look up people you matchmake with. And. If all else fails, you can go back to your precious LFGs, I haven’t seen anyone calling for them to be taken down. You’d still be able to do Bungie’s job for them and demand 10+ clears so you get carried. Meanwhile, the rest of us are gonna do a lot more raids and have fun while being efficient, and I am confident that everyone, including you, would eventually go for in-game matchmaking as it would be much faster and convenient.
