Phantom forces are now converging on the final haven for the natives.[/i] The Phantoms set up camp three kilometers north of the village. The camp consisted of four tents, and an unmanned hovertank. The area was surrounded by trees. It was raining. Commander Bracksis stood in one, looking down at a holomap. The map showed the village on the bottom, the camp in the middle, and a mountain 23 kilometers away, on the far left side. A soldier entered the tent. “Sir, they’ve all retreated to the village, it’s surprisingly well guarded.” Bracksis grunted, and turned around. He had a scar spanning from ear to ear. “Hmmm. And how many have we lost?” “None, sir.” “Good! I’ll send a report to K’raiv. As for you and the other troops, move on the village and strike them down.” “Gladly.” The troop saluted, and left the tent. The troop walked to a large group of Phantoms, they were chatting. One of them noticed him. “Hey, Mako, back so soon?” [spoiler]Like I said, not great with names.[/spoiler] “Yeah, Bracksis sent me back with orders to move on the village.” “Well, it’s about time!” The Phantom grabbed a beam rifle, and the group prepared for the attack. [quote]Five minutes later.[/quote] “We there yet?” “Should be, just gotta make it over this hill.” Mako said as he stepped over a log. The group made it to the top of the hill, and looked down on the village. It consisted of a wall, with archers on the top. Inside were huts and small farms. “Hey, you. I forgot your name, sorry. We need you to cover us, snipe those guys on my signal.” The sniper nodded, and the rest of the troops moved down the hill. They took cover in a large bush, a few meters away from the wall. “Alright, shoot.” The sniper fired plasma rounds into the archers, and moved down the hill to join the others. Mako set an explosive on the gate, and the group took cover behind a boulder, and waited for the sniper to catch up with them. Once he caught up, Mako detonated the charge, and the group charged into the village. They were met with human-like villagers with spears. They attacked. Mako shot two down with his sidearm, and the rest of the group killed the rest. They began their dirty work of burning down the village with flamethrowers. Mako and another Phantom entered a large hut, and were attacked by four villagers. They couldn’t react before being knock off their feet. Two tried to stab him, and the other two killed the other Phantom. Mako rolled out of the way, and shot two of the villagers, and managed to shoot another, before being stabbed through the left shoulder. He screamed of pain, and tossed a spear into the villagers chest, killing them. He pulled the spear out, and could see the bone, it had been shattered. He cringed, and slowly got back on his feet. The entire village was being engulfed in flames, a voice came over his comms. “Our job is done here. Let’s get back to camp.” The troops were evacuating the village. He began to walk back to the entrance, but felt a sharp pain in his chest. He looked down to see a spear had penetrated his chest. His vision blurred, he fell to the ground. A villager stood above him, and pulled the spear out. He rolled onto his back, and looked up. Someone knocked at the door. “Come in.” The door slid open, and a Phantom entered. “The invasion has gone as planned, we lost only two soldiers.” “Good. Prepare eight rings. Send them to the planet.” “Yes sir.” [i]Damn. I’ve been trying to make this one all day. A lot of distractions. Or would this be considered a distraction from real life? Either way, here it is.[/i]
