Why only now I'm yearning for a cigarette?
I could smoke 1 cigarette a week right? Or a few on 1 day per week? It's almost nothing.
But even 1 cigarette per week would mean I'm a smoker and the toxic stuff would never leave my body, right?
Because I would refill it once a week and it takes ages for the human body to get rid of it. And those toxic stuff can cause blemished skin and diseases.
I'd bite my ass if one day the doctor tells me: "Sir I'm sorry, but you have lung cancer because you didn't have the discipline to stop smoking 20 years ago." And I'd be a bit disappointed in myself if I threw those 38 days away.
But I miss it. It's like a part of my soul and my freedom is gone.

Good luck though I know what it is like, I quit smoking a few times but upon this day never truely managed it so I use a vaper now.

2 回覆Don't do it! You have to resist the urge. "Just one won't hurt" and "this will be the last time, maybe" are ways to justify what you know you shouldn't do.

1 回覆Slightly related... to resist drinking beer, I drink Seltzer water instead. It satisfies that carbonation craving without the alcohol and calories. Not sure how it would translate to smoking though.. maybe try chewing gum?

1 回覆that craving will continue for a helluva long time. just refuse to buy one, if you don't have cigs then you can't smoke them. I awhile back myself, if does get better but it takes awhile

1 回覆Dont give in. Keep your hands occupied with anything. Same with your mouth. Find a coin you like to flip, spin a pencil, anything. Chew gum use hard candy or mints just keep occupied.

Throw away all your ashtrays and lighters. Put No Smoking signs on every door in your house and in your vehicles. Any 'friends' that offer you cigs or continue to smoke around you are not really 'friends' at all. Good luck.

2 回覆I can help with that. I would get rid of all cigarettes in your house if you hadn't done that already. You can also take nicotine chewable to help wean you off of the nicotine. Or you can use a patch. But also to make sure you don't buy anymore I would go shopping with a trusted friend or family member so they make sure you don't buy them unconsciously.

When I quit I started vaping (way before everyone else jumped on the bandwagon) because I needed the nicotine still and something to keep my hands busy during the day. If you don't want to do that I'd suggest chewing nicorette gum.

Your past the stages of withdrawal. Your current symptoms are do to a change of consistency of your normal life. In this case your mentally condition to having a cigarette at certain times of the day or during certain routines. You need to get past this. I have plenty of times thought the same way. However justifying a reason to have 1 will lead to another. You will buy a pack. Then justify a reason to finish it. The cycle will then continue.
