Dude Sol is central to them. There is a possible reason they are Vex ships.
Vault of Glass, their main hub.
Infinite Forest, their only way to simulate paracausal entities and plot a future where they win (Dark Futures)
Pyramidion, massive data storage network
Multiple worlds mostly converted
-Also a strange note. In the BoS the Hive that went into the Vex side of the gate lost power. So it’s possible Vex who gained power in the throneworld can’t travel in the Vex system without losing it. They might need to stay in the materialHence why they would need ships and require some form of paracausal power. Just spitballing that
The plotting of survival is their main focus. We have all three primary functions of that job here in this system. The same system the final showdown is happening.
The connection between Ghosts and the Vex is troubling. That the Vex think they share a common “home” is a serious ref flag.
Also they were able to fight in the throneworld because that space gave them the Sword Logic power. They don’t have it in the material plane. So their warriors won’t be as effective here (unless the power carries over. In which case they would have to hold them in reserve to protect their central locations. Can’t risk it for normal slugouts)
Nah, they got a front row seat to the two main powers it opposes fighting each other to the death. This is a perfect setup for them to manipulate us.
They can’t fight us here like they could in the throneworld. So the next best step is brute force plotting a way out of the hole they are in. Which seems to be working since Curse tells us they have multiple ways to win.

I need to do more research on the vex, I think it’s naive to say that this part of space is important to them, the traveler knows how many worlds they converted. But maybe it is, maybe their combat forms are battling a stronger race or entity on the other side of their controlled region. And it is easier, more save making their intellectual back bone here rather then at the frontline, light years away in a perpetual war with a enemy far worse then Cabal, Hive, Eliksni or humans.

Lol I’m curious why you think the number of worlds they converted matters?

<Actually, even in the Forest, they cannot simulate the paracausal to a T, which would lead to victory in all fronts. The power to simulate the paracausal, as proven by Quria, can lead to powers usually accessed by ritual or magic. Were the Vex able to simulate as it could, then they'd be able to wipe the floor with anything in their way. However, Quria is alone for now.>
