So me and my friend have been duo-ing our butts off for god knows how many weeks to get up to almost 600. Playing triple characters and doing all powerful gear-drops plus god knows how many strikes and other things afterwards.
Then a third friend of mine who is rather lazy, spends ONE EVENING, grinding the event for the Horror Story rifle. Then all of a sudden the game acts like he's max light and gives him drops for that, which is 600.
Now i'm sitting here on 598 after months, and he's 600 after not more than 3 days. Up from 520.
Why the spit in my face?
Was it reasonable to do this? .. Couldn't you have capped the rifle to something like 560? (Or make it not get calculated in the droplevels)
When i finally felt the grinding felt justified to get to 600, crawling each level up per prime-engram or finished flashpoint, this shit hits the fan.
And i gotta tell you devs, i'm not feeling up for playing anymore.
This is the things that brings you back to the stoneage of thinking.
I'd like an official responce to this, aswell as any others thoughts if you have any.
Was it fair?

由SmashvilleViking編輯: 10/30/2018 9:18:30 PMIt's impossible to go from 520 to 600 in 3 days, even with constant grinding. 1 600LL weapon isn't going to boost your LL that much, nor will it cause engrams to drop at 600. At 520, his LL would be brought up to 530ish. His powerful rewards still wouldn't drop high enough for him to max out in 3 days.

3 回覆You’re butt hurt because your buddy spent 4hrs grinding to get a 600 lvl gun where as you’ve spent much more time grinding and haven’t received drops that high. We all know who the dumb dumb is.

由crazeeavery編輯: 10/30/2018 6:20:27 PMNo way he got 600 ll droppes after getting the Horror Story and he definitely didn't max in 3 days. I put it on my warlock at 490 and it took a week to get to 577. At that level the gun is only a 2 light boost for me.

If you're telling me your friend boosted from 520 to 600 gear in just a few days all because of the 600 auto rifle, I'm flat saying that's not possible. At best, that rifle gives him 80/8 power level points. He'd go from 520 to 530 by equipping it. There's simply no way he is getting 600 drops simply from doing that, unless there is a bug in the game...

1 回覆There are several ways to look at this. Take this example for instance..... You and your friend have been playing since Forsaken came out. Daily, several hours a day. Grinding your way to 600. You talk a 3rd friend into joining you (why not? 3's a charm, insta fireteam, etc..) 3rd guy just starting out. Can't invest as many hours into the game as you and the 2nd friend. He plays a few nights. See's very little growth or advancement. Can see he is nowhere near your levels and gets frustrated and quits. OR He is able to level up quickly to put him in range of you and the 2nd friend. Meaning he can run current level things same as you and not be an anchor weighing you down and holding you back. I personally prefer the 2nd scenario where my friend can level quickly to be at the same level I am. I would get more enjoyment playing the game with him rather than bitching about how he had it easy mode.

I gave my Titan and my Warlock three 600 power weapons once I hit Level 50/500 on both of them. They got power levelled to a ridiculous level, and are both above 590 with the right stuff equipped after probably less than 10 hours of playing each one. Stop whining, just do some powerful gear activities and move on with your life.

5 回覆To anybody who needs to level up your other characters use the horror story and if your main is 600 light grab the white energy smg out of your collections at 580 then transfer it to your low level character

4 回覆I gotta say, the attitude and tone of this post is pretty toxic. Just know, that because I’m about to disagree with you, it doesn’t make me toxic back. I’m just expressing my different opinion. I think your post is toxic because you care so much for how other people play the game, you’re letting it kill your experience, and blaming it on, the horror story? Bungie? RnG? I hit 600 a week or two ago, and my friends who have the horror story were like 550 and are now on par with me. You know what I say about it? Good. More people to play with. My grind to 600 doesn’t automatically make me special, it just means I played more than them to hit max level early. It’s not something to brag about, or expect everyone else to do to hit max light.

7 回覆I get so annoyed by ppl like you that dont understand how to play this game....ughh ill explain it to you. First. You never want to try and play 3 characters at once trying to get to 600. its gonna take you forever and you will not level up quick at all. you focus on one character for a couple weeks. took my 3-4 weeks to get my hunter fully 600. next thing i did was start on my warlock and put the 600 weapons i had and transferred it to him as soon as he was level 50. first armor drop i get was 550. next one 560. if the guns are 600 the armor will catch up. it took me 2 days to start my warlock with the forsaken dlc and to get him 600. this is the easiest and fastest way to level up your characters. Thats gonna be $9.99 for that info lol 2nd. Its been almost 2 months since forsaken dropped and ppl should at least have one character one piece of armor or a gun at 600...thats why the horror story is 600 because you only have to grind 3-4 hours maybe less to get it. Third. Dont blame your friend for being lazy, he probably just knows how to properly level up. You do 3 characters at once its gonna take you triple the time to get them all leveled up. Its your fault you did this not bungies not your friend, there are many youtube videos explaining how to level up. you should of watched at least one. SO i disagree with your whole post becuase your not playing this game right. focus on one guy and wait until he has full 600 armor and guns then do your other character and put the gun on him. its very simple. dont complain or blame the devs or your friends you have been playing this game wrong for months and now you wanna leave lol

4 回覆Maybe you should have followed your rather lazy friends lead and not 'worked so hard'... Also, life ain't fair, get used to it or you are going to be a pretty miserable person moving forward.

9 回覆Wow, just read through that and I have to say you and those with your attitude is what is cancer to this game. I also concur with others here I what you say reeks of b.s. I was mid 520 before I got the rifle and went up to the mid 530s, has this helped me level up? Yes a WHOLE 10LL WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
-
1 回覆Do you play for fun or do you play to simply level up? You sound like the person that also only plays as long as you get a new item out of every single thing you do in game.
-
Yes the gun would give him a decent power level boost but it wouldn’t take him to 600 alone if all other gear was around 520. Not even doing the Shattered Throne, Raid, Dreaming City Bounties and exploiting Primes would get you there in 1 week. Is it annoying, kind of but then they had to put a big carrot on the Forest Grind and actually overall is good for those that don’t have hours to grind but still need the power boost to take part in other content with friends.

1 回覆People underestimate and do not understand the significance of giving a low light (520-540) a 600 item. That 600 gear only pulls you up on every powerful drop you get. My light has soared since getting Horror Story👍

11 回覆由standto2004編輯: 10/30/2018 1:59:46 PMOh no! Someone has a higher light level than you? Now how will you feel good about yourself?
It’s a game. who cares?

ps. Your post reeks of bs. I was 568 when I got horror story and got to 584. No way to go from 520 to 600
2 回覆600 from 520 in 3 days? Doesn't pass the smell test. Using DIM I just put gear on my character to make him 520, then put on a 600 power weapon and it bumped me to 530. Again, doesn't pass the smell test.

6 回覆由Dan Tactics編輯: 10/30/2018 2:10:30 PMMust not have looked around for the random chest in the Haunted Forest while you were "grinding". By the way, the two weekly bounties so far gave 40 souls each. So over the course of doing those 30 bounties to get those weekly bounties done, you would have to only grind for 10 souls. 2x40 souls for weekly, 30x1 for each daily bounty completed, leaving 10 leftover required for the auto rifle. If you were the type to just speedrun the haunted forest, and not pick up any bounties, then you chose to do it the long way.
