My guess is that none of that stuff was secret and could be discerned from audio and video transmissions bouncing around the solar system.
In D1 The Speaker even does a sort of wide-scale "Calling All Guardians" alert for a mission. I don't think The Speaker was hiding or that information security was/is a priority for the city. At least not a priority for undead Guardians.

So he knew who the speaker was, but when his ship veers around to just attack the tower...he knew exactly where to hit. I mean the speaker would have major balls to forgo anonymity, and say that the tower is stronger than any foe in the galaxy, and basically dare them to try.
