Is Horizon Zero Dawn Worthy of GOTY 2017!?

6 回覆It's good, but no GOTY. I would pick any of the following over it: Prey Wolfenstein 2 Zelda BotW Super Mario Odyssey Hellblade Killing Floor 2 Warframe

3 回覆It’s a worthy contender and it deserves to be a nominee on every single GOTY poll, but I’m afraid that ZBotW and Mario Odyssey have it beat in the gameplay department and games like NeiR Automata have it beat in the ‘art department. Horizon Zero Dawn is a great game but in a way it’s also fairly generic in that it does everything well ( amazingly well ) but in a way it doesn’t do anything that ‘we’ haven’t seen before and as such it can often feel very routine and generic.

I liked it, but there were other games this year that i found to be better. I enjoyed persona 5, and breath of the wild far more, but that is just me. Still a good and interesting game, but not up there for game of the year for me (or the majority for that matter seeing as it didnt win).

IMO yes. It is for me one of the best games I've played this year. Plz don't hate me on this, but I honestly didn't really like BOTW (not that I don't like Zelda. Twilight Princess is one of my fav games of all time!): the story, Voice acting, weapon durability and ending really killed the experience for me (I did enjoy the open-world gameplay though!). Horizon on the other hand was fantastic. It had a great story with memorable characters (especially the main character, Aloy) and it had great gameplay, especially with the hunting mechanics.

2 回覆It is a fantastic game, one of the best released this year. I couldn't give it my GOTY because I had too many games I enjoyed this year to pick a favourite. Tales of Berseria, Nier Automata, Tides of Numenera (been waiting for a sequel to Planescape Torment for years), Ys Origins, Persona 5, Zelda, Disgaea 5, Final Fantasy 14 Stormblood, Accel World V's Sword Art Online, Fortnite (PvE), Hellblade, Pillars of eternity, Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen (PS4), Nioh (PC) and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Just too many games.

3 回覆Tbh I haven't really seen any great games this year so I have no idea what goty will be. All the super hyped ones are ps exclusive too so don't even know about them
