I won't claim myself an expert like everyone else seems to be, but I would like to know how it is people justify the "bungie isn't the same anymore" rhetoric lol. Yeah some bungie devs left, but are they people that were there from the start or hired on as halo started to come up? This isn't about halo remember, and especially not destiny. I mean the bias is palpable from these posts lol.

  • At face value, it’s a true statement. As a developer, Bungie has changed over the years, both in terms of staff and goals. Marathon-era Bungie differed from Halo-era, which differs from Destiny-era; these are straight facts. The opinion part comes in when you think about the quality of games each era of Bungie has produced. At the very least, one can assume that a different era of Bungie would have a different take on different games. If Destiny-era Bungie made a Marathon game, it would undoubtedly feel different from classic Marathon, and not just because of the better technology of modern game development.

  • Yeah I am not saying they haven't changed at all, hell even if it was left to the original group people themselves change anyway. I recognize that, I just find the statements being made amusing because they are based on how they feel about recent events only. I mean if you want to be super honest the team has had constant highs and lows. They were never really consistently either. Likely due to them trying things that they either don't understand themselves or something no one has really tried at all. Broadly speaking anyway, I am sure there are other factors.
