Titanfall and Titanfall 2 were not well received as far as sales go, they have a small but dedicated fanbase, I'm one of them. The lack of sales might have left Respawn no choice.

They messed with the gameplay, the fall off in numbers during the beta was massive, we gave them the feedback about all of our concerns, they didn't listen, it all made it to the final build as it was in the beta. It was always up against it when you add to that the many that thought the first was lacking in content. I'll agree the timing of it's release probably didn't help. However, it was not solely to blame for the poor reception.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of them both, but they messed with too much in the second game. All we asked for was a campaign and more customizations. However the decided to mess with the gameplay, the very thing that made the first game good imo.

Pretty true ea didnt want it outselling its beloved battlefield 1 so it undermined the game with the release date. If it had released a couple weeks sooner or later it might have been different but whos to know what would have happened? I liked titanfall 2 thought it was great, better than battlefield 1 anyway and that story was well made
