We do block programs from pushing their code into our game. Most overlays work like that. We don't ban for that tho. That's internet BS.
Basically, the official response from Bungie at this time is that all of you banned PC players are lying. According to Bungie, nobody was banned for any overlays and anyone claiming to have been banned for that reason is full of shit! Bungie hasn't listed "getting banned" on the "Known Issues" list for PC because it's not an issue, obviously.
Seriously Bungie?! Your response to all these people getting banned is to say their claims are BS? No official comment that you're actually looking into this?!

1 回覆Down voted for twisting what they said to suit your trolling agenda. They clearly said the idea of getting banned for use of an overlay was internet BS. Where did they call all banned players liars exactly?
-
People do realize that for most pc game releases there is a huge spike of bans day one... Right? Its getting easier for them to detect cheating software and stop it before its an issue. Dont want to get banned? Dont have the cheating software installed in the first place

1 回覆Have you ever known a cheat to admit that they deserved to be banned after being caught? I assumed that the bans were from innocuous mistakes that another programme being run was causing it, but it seems that the bans were handed out as programmes that are designed to manipulate the game code were being used. If you were banned because of this then that's great news. If only there was a way to find out if you owned the console version too and ban your cheating ass on that too.

9 回覆OR a bunch of cheaters are feigning innocence & a bunch of morons that hate Bungie but love their forums are choosing sides based on emotion & not information.

I think this comment is bullshit. I think they had an automated ban system set up that was catching people using overlays. They’ve since turned it off. “Fires are hot. Most fires are fueled by oxygen. This fire was fueled by oxygen, but it wasn’t hot. That’s Internet BS”

2 回覆No auto ban, see below DESTINY 2 SECURITY 1h - Destiny Dev Team We have seen lots of questions about bans being issued in the PC version of Destiny 2. To provide some information, we would like to share some facts. The following is true: Destiny 2 cannot automatically ban you, only Bungie can ban a player after a manual investigation Yesterday, we banned approximately 400 players on PC Bans were applied to players who were using tools that pose a threat to the shared ecosystem of the game We did not (and will not) issue any bans for the use of overlays or performance tools, including Discord, Xsplit, OBS, RTSS, etc. Information on using third-party applications can be found here: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/46101 We are overturning 4 of the bans that were issued during the PC Beta We are committed to providing an experience that is fun and fair for the millions of players who have joined us in this community.
