Prolly ghost bullets.
They pop up every once and a while while I'm using annual skate in PvP. The thing that hurts the most is their terrible bloom and visual recoil.
Hand cannons are the only weapon I have tested that gets these "ghost bullets". Regardless of the cause the lack of reliability with hand cannons borders ridiculous.
AKA Bloom. Hand Cannons are notorious for having this ridiculous "cone of fire" (NAME ONE REAL GUN THAT FIRES BULLETS IN A CONE) where the bullets can go anywhere except where you are aiming. The faster you fire the Hand Cannon, the bigger this "cone" gets.
It's a completely absurd mechanic to appease people whining about a weapon they don't like.
Technically real guns have "bloom" as well.
Just watch anybody shooting tagerts. Unless you have Rock solid aim and perfect control you are never going to hit the exact same spot every time. Most times you don't even hit directly where you aim. There are so many factors going into shooting real bullets. That is why people say they have "tight grouping" when hitting targets. The closer the hits are to your original aiming point, the better your group is.
But if you are aiming and have decent control, you are not gonna fire a bullet and have it hit super far left or right of your crosshair unless your shaking or being stupid.
So when it comes to stright up missing shots that are clear as day, Bungie's handcannon bloom is ass backwards and stupid.
That's my point: It's so extreme it's not even real world accurate. Again, bullets don't fire in a "cone", and the entire theory in this case is preposterous.
