Bungie will tell you some trade off bullshit.
I think this hand canon meta is garbage.

If you guys want a Auto Rifle that can out shoot a hand canon try the Genius Chain. It has a kill time of 0.83 making it a faster kill with 5 crits and 1 body. Personally I don't like it but that doesn't mean you won't.

My understanding is that Bungie has always shown a bias/preference for single-shot weapons over automatic weapons in their games.

Have you ever shot a hand cannon before? It's awesome. Rifles are a dime a dozen but a .357 magnum makes you feel like a god.

in destiny 2 I hope we have full-auto, semi- auto and burst fire assault rifles as well as smg's and lmg's and shotguns and snipers as primarys with sidearms and hand cannons becoming one special weapon class with like fusion rifles and grenade launchers or some other cool shit.

Hand cannons go "pew pew" Auto rifles go "rat-tat-tat" P comes before R therefore hand cannons are better..... Destiny Logic

Really you are complaining about hand cannons in this meta!? Not even stickies and ammo regenerating weapons........

Bigger bullet =more pain. If you have an AK 47 and magnum 44 in real life. Shoot them both at a wall and see what makes the bigger hole.

I don't know... at under 25-30 yards, let see. .50 S&W Magnum out of a S/W 500 vs. 556 NATO. A half inch diameter hollow point vs. what is essentially a .22 round, although quite zippy. Now if we were talking .308 or 7.62x39, that might be another story...

.44 magnum: Bullet diameter: .430 inch. Bullet weight: 225 grains. Bullet Velocity: 1,870 fps. Bullet Energy: 1,747 ft.lbs. 5.56 NATO round: Bullet diamete: 0.224 inch. Bullet weight: 62 grains. Bullet Velocity: 3,100 fps. Bullet Energy: 1,303 ft.lbs. or short answer Cause math. GG
