As far as weapons go yes but for abilities separate changes is really difficult and sometimes it benefits both viking funeral is a perfect example for this now warlocks have a way to grant teammates a damage buff

  • Don't even try to justify those changes. New Viking funeral barely even affects your team's DPS, you're still better off running two grenades than running ignite. It in no way "benefitted both," the only people it benefitted are those who have so much ADHD that they couldn't just stay in cover until an eight tick DoT ran out. That burn used to be an effective way of shutting down shield regeneration in PvE, and Firebolts used to be a decent option for add clear. Now no one uses either.

  • Let's see we have solar grenades with VF ToF and sunbreakers those grenades alone with all that lasts about 20 to 30 seconds which is great for boss dps and the otherside is fusions with Starfire and VF while it does grant bonus damage it is no where near as long as the combination i listed above

  • Viking Funeral is only applied on impact, even with Solars. The duration of the Viking Funeral effect will be just as long with either, the question is DPS. From what I've seen, Fusions are still king in that category.

  • Fusions to me in pve are useless unless im killing captains in wotm plus i don't like starfire i only use it when i get stuck multiple and i want revenge

  • They're a solid choice for taking out majors regardless of the activity in PvE. Great supplement to your loadout if you're running a sniper rifle or a really specialized primary

  • Just wondering if you knew this but, you know solar grenades only cause ignite on direct impact. So even if something sits in a solar grenade the whole time you still get the same 3-ish seconds you get with all other grenades. That being said solar grenades might do more damage than fusions if somethings sits in it for the whole duration, I dont know though.

    My solution to that would be to buff the dps given from viking funeral and increase the number of ticks given from viking funeral but decrease slightly the damage per tick unless bungie already did that then leave the damage the tick or just leave the viking funeral buff effect longer but without the continuous burn. I can agree the old viking funeral wasn't op but it definitely was annoying. What I'm saying in general bungie was attempting to make it more effective as a support roll fir that class other than having a self res or song of flame

    They needed to just buff song of flame. Like a lot. Increased damage to all nearby, damage resistance to all nearby, greatly increased length, something that would make it worth using for general support. Viking Funeral was fine as it was, not every support class needs to revolve around DPS.

  • I like your idea better lol however having the buff to incoming damage as big of an increase like weapons of light or tether is needed for the current viking funeral though and for song of flame I think it would be better so that people know they're being buffed to have a visable ring on the ground like the new buff that they added for Lucio in overwatch so that you and your teammates can see the range your radiance has
