Which faction survives.
As of today I obtained another exotic mark and with that, I figured I'd make another faction theory.[quote]if you'd like to read the previous one: [url]https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/198335593/0/0[/url] [/quote]So we know which faction is the best out of the three (according to Toland's universal principle).
But what about when the darkness returns? Who will come out on top to survive.
The following quote will give us that answer: mystery - Vault of glass 3. (Don't have to read this)
[spoiler]Hours of this before, with a wash of power, a huge convoy of ships drops into reality from warp.
A convoy of Guardian craft, hundreds strong. Ships of all sizes and shapes can be seen, from venerable craft that have been salvaged from the Golden Age through to City designs to vessels that have yet to emerge from the Shipwright's hangars.
The ships are battle-scarred. Many are barely spaceworthy. As warp drives wind down several seem to lose power and begin to drift. Some of the largest craft bear imagery familiar to frequent visitors to the tower: Dead Orbit symbols, the simple icon of the Vanguard. The New Monarchy and Future War Cult as well, though fewer examples can be seen. Others bears symbols never seen in the Tower to date.
Every single ship, from the largest cruiser to the smallest personal craft, carries shards of stone, remnants of the City and the Tower. Banners too, tattered and worn from entering and leaving warp.
The fleet is only visible for a few breaths, less than a minute. Then, with a massive flash of light, the fleet jumps on. The craft that have lost power are left behind, spinning and whirling away from the etheric wake of their powered fellows. The Ghost spins on, and soon enough only stars fill its field of view until the fragment ends. [/spoiler]
The answer is dead orbit. Praedyth's ghost records a massive fleet, massive cruisers and small personal ships. The ships had all the faction banners, the crucible, vanguard banners and even some banners we don't know of yet. All on a mass exodus which is dead orbit's strategy.
However the ghost mentions that this fleet has been going in and out of warp, some ships seemed to lose power, some of those ships were left behind when the fleet jumped again. It only stands to reason to assume this fleet is running and the fact that some of these ships are battle worn means they may be actively running.
To explain, this is a future where the darkness returned but we decided to take the dead orbit strategy and run.
Sol fell and the traveler was more than likely consumed. This future is one of no light and little hope, but we still survived. Make of that what you will.
And where FWC hasn't really seen a future where we "survive" yet, this is a good step up.
So do you agree?
Could dead orbit be the best way to go, Or do you think maybe FWC has a chance to push back the darkness a second time?

1 回覆There was another thread about that exact card a little while back and I'll say the same thing I said there: It's one possible future, one of many. It's the kind of future that [b][i]will[/i][/b] happen if we don't take our collective heads out of our asses. The Vanguard needs to get their shit together and realize that fighting a purely defensive war is a losing battle. We need to get out there, start kicking some serious ass, start taking ground back, and start burning away the alien corruption on the worlds that are rightfully ours.

13 回覆I think that FWC will drive themselves mad, New Monarchy will over throw each other, and dead orbit will flee in panic. This is where I see the seven seraphs come in as a new main faction

1 回覆None of them dead orbit would either never make it off world or get lost in space forever, future war cult maybe as their getting ready for war but they'd all be taken out, and new monarchy would be to busy trying to find a new king.

7 回覆None of the factions alone would do us any good. NM strives to instate a sole monarch of absolute power, FWC would have us slowly destroyed in a war of attrition, and Dead Orbit makes us become akin to the Fallen. I believe that if all three joined forces with the Consensus and Vanguard, we would have the tools to retake the system. FWC provides weapons and tactics, NM provides leadership, stability and morale to the City, and Dead Orbit provides the fleet, with the Vanguard leading the Guardians. I have a hard time believing that this could ever happen, and while they are divided, none will be of any consequence.

If we do not divide our Efforts and work as one we can win. The Warcult sees thou time.Very useful. Rumors of the Gaurdians actually beating the darkness. DO:We need eyes to find new homes,to build new cities.Not only If the other falls.But, so we can have checkpoints to not just hold.But,push back. The Monarchy:Don't agree with a singler leader. But, a army for the homefront sounds useful. We have eyes (Warcult) Ears (D0) A mouth (Speaker) and a hand (Monarchy) We all can Fuction with some of It missing. But, we will be lesser as a whole. But the term "Blind,Deff and dumb" comes to mind.

Sure the Fallen get their Great Machine and the Cabal can finally start to gain land on Mars again. Nothing would be able to stop the Vex and their crazy plans. But the Hive. They would send ships and gods at us, because as long as we live the Light lives. Even if they destroy the Traveler we still will have the light of our Ghosts, and so the light will live on. We shall be hunted down like prey, with them slowly killings us off until we either give up or they pick us all off. Either way, I still believe the FWC is the best way to go (unless all the factions learn to work together)

Dead orbit we can't fight for ever eventually as Toland say in his journal the place ringed in spears will fall to the queen with the army and that's all that Matters in the end. The symbolism is obvious the place ringed in spears is the city with its turrets and guardians the queen with the army is the darkness the only reason we're still here is because the factions of the darkness are fighting with each other. So that means that fighting is futile we will not survive as new monarchy politics can't help us now

That vision was made with vex technology. And guardians have proven to be able to mess up a timeline. Such as stopping the vex's destruction. We stopped it in the special version of the paradox mission. So it could be proven false.

10 回覆Faction outcomes: Dead Orbit: Will flee and could in theory survive the longest, but it won't work out well for our race. We'll be too scattered to repopulate without heavy inbreeding. Odds are we'll eventually die out this way, though how long it'll take when humanity's life expectancy has grown is unknown. New Monarchy: Will most likely see attacks on the Tower as a way to get rid of the current leadership so they can step in, but odds are they'll follow the same fate. All signs point to an intelligent enemy force, so they'll continuously take out leadership to keep us in a state of chaos. I don't see them lasting for a long period of time. Future War Cult: It'll be a battle of attrition that could, in theory, keep going and last as long as or pass dead orbit, but will probably not. Forces will constantly die for the last time, and future forces will take years before they're able to take that place. Eventually, they'll be consumed, but not for a lack of trying. If we are hit with a full on, non-stop assault, it won't matter the faction, they'll eventually all fade away. Hell, all any enemy group has to do is bring in several of their larger ships and just bombard the city. The Guardians will fly off to fight, those unable will fight in the streets, but heavy casualties will happen, and it might just be enough that they blame the Guardians for the assault and destruction, causing a rift and internal destruction.

3 回覆The Dead Orbit future is one of many futures in stock for us. What we saw was a specific...universe? Timeline? Whichever one, it was the one where DO was "successful" and we ran. We didn't get to see the FWC or NM futures.

5 回覆I dont think this is sufficient evidence to say that Sol is destroyed, the Light lost conpleteley and our only hope of survival is running which DO did. I do agree that this is their fleey, but not OURS. Allow me to explain a little. In the quest where we get the Dread Explorer ghost shell from DO and realise that the Cabal sent word to their emperor, we see DO and the Vanguard working together. Since they work together I'm sure that DO carries out certain tasks for the Vanguard in exchange for ships or licence to ships or something like that. If you think about how many DO and Vanguard ships there were you will see that this is where the majority of DO fleet is, in their own ships that they made themselves or got from the Vanguard. The ships from the other factions? Well we can assume in all factions there is some kind of ranking system and the lower ranks and new recruits of New Monarchy and Future War Cult decided to "jump ship" and escape with DO because of fear of the Darkness. Equally possible is the idea that DO stole some ships real quick. DO could also have just decided that it was time and left on their own then met with the Darkness by accident. Though that is far more unlikely. Regardless of the truth I dont think this is sufficient information to firmly conclude the defeat of the Light and the sole survivors being DO of all factions. You can't outrun something like the darkness; the traveler's entire history is proof of that, and if it were possible, then the traveler likely would've brought with it an entire fleet of fleeing alien civilisations.

4 回覆I will die at the last city. When the fleet is leaving in destiny 2. I will not pick up to destiny 2. I died in destiny 1. I do not believe in abandoning the city. Dead orbit does. No one can out run the darkness.
