GTA V: Catchup in races, yay or nay?

Yay

Nay

Are you for or against it? The arguments I have heard so far... For: - Keeps races close. It's often a tight dash to the finish. - Allows newer players a chance at glory without having to drop $5m+ on a fleet of top-end custom machinery. Against: - Punishes higher-skilled players by handicapping them; they use their skill to get away from the pack only to be dragged back in, leaving them cheated when they get smashed off the track by Laggy McLagface. - A higher-level player's shiny wheels acquired using hard-earned* cash become worthless. Personally, I hate catchup.
*Yes, I know money glitches have been a thing for a long time.
In my personal opinion Catchup/Rubberbanding is one of the worst inventions in Racing Video Game History. I can understand the sense behind it, but in my opinion if I am simply better than the rest I shouldn't be made slower or they faster. It destroys the meaning of Skill in Racing Games, not to mention it's completely unrealistic (even while its only a virtual game). If anything, there should always be separate Playlists, one with Catchup for the more casual Racers, and one without Catchup for the Purists. I don't like it in GTA Online either, which is the reason why I always host my own lobbies turning Catchup off, and I leave any lobbies having the option enabled.
