"She. Is. Nineteen."
She was using that tone. No man in the universe could bear the pressure.

由Shadlezz編輯: 5/31/2016 3:27:47 AM"No argument to be had. You're not going. Ryker has no authority here. I do. This is a military operation. I don't care about your shenanigans. I don't care how powerful you think you are. I don't care how much money you have. I'm in charge. I have the first and final word. Is. That. Clear."

"Ryker, we've had this discussion a million times. You are the worst tactician ever born. I am the brains. Yes, your harbinger pony poses a certain threat. But there's a way to go about this. You're not a child, and I don't have time to clean up your mess. I have half a mind to lock you both up to make sure you don't pull mindless stunts. But it just so happens that I need you, Ryker, as bait. You'll have to do the thing you excel at in life. Sit there and look pretty. Is that enough?"

由cyberattaq編輯: 5/31/2016 3:36:22 AMHe stands, looking at her. She sees something she's never seen in his eyes, a smoldering resentment. His eyes no longer looked soft and light. They were harsh, and cold. "Yes.... Ma'am...." He grinds out, quickly exiting the room. Monicas eyes were wide, that had never happened, ever. Ryker had never lost his cool, never grown angry at his wife.

No time for sentiment. This is war. "Good." She turned her invisible gaze to Monica. "as for you, Young lady, it seems you already found yourself a new boyfriend. At least he can make sure you stay here. He seems smart enough. Just stay with him and listen to what he says, alright? I may seem harsh, but if you spent only twenty minutes in my shoes... only twenty minutes... you'd understand. Think of what your father and mother would say. Understand? And don't worry about uncle Ryker. He'll be fine. He has a very sensitive ego, that's all."
-
"Maybe he just wants a little respect... He has done a lot of great things. He just wants what he deserves." She says with a shrug as she stands. "Maybe you two should talk... I may not be married but I think you guys need to have a down to earth, one on one discussion... Just my two cents though..." She pauses right before she exits. "Please... I hate seeing you to argue... You were always so good to each other..." She leaves.
-
Monica nods. She goes into the room Ryker is in, he sits on the edge of a bed, staring at the ground. Monica sits next to him. "She didn't mean any of that you know." "Did she? Did she really? I don't know, I'm starting to loose understanding of what's a joke and what's serious." He stands. "Uncle Ry come on..." He sighs. "I just... All I want is a little respect. All I want is just to be recognized. It may sound egotistical but... I just feel like I'm not equal. I feel like I'm leaser emotionally and in other people's eyes." She looks at him. "Ellie is always more collected... More calm... Organized. And every time I look at her... In her eyes all I see is contempt, in her words malice. I feel hated... By my own wife." He laughs dryly. Monica hugs him. "I love you Uncle Ry, even if Aunt Ellie doesn't, but she does. She's just stressed... And she's working, so just remember that. She loves you more than you know." Ryker sighs. "Thank you Monica... I assume she sent you to come and get me..." Ryker stands, and begins walking back to the office, eventually arriving, sitting down.

A holographic board stood before them, she was already standing in the room with her command squad. "Harbinger is desperate. He has no military assets that can rival ours at his disposal. His mind is that of rage and despair. He wants to kill, and he won't think of the rest. Usually, a madman is a difficult target to pin. But currently, given the situation, it could play to our advantage. In a warehouse far from here, Ryker will play the bait. Meanwhile, a full column of armoured support will be waiting, along with troops. We are setting up an ambush. I want masking fields, dampeners, the best stuff we have. Think like General Creed. And prepare for anything. Speed, strength, his tactics are unknown. But we're the 7th Baltic Manticores. Cadians are always ready, and always victorious."
-
Ryker watches. She certainly knew what she was doing. Of course she did. She was the Tempestor Prime. Fancy name for a honored position. He didn't necessarily approve of the whole send a whole regiment... He just wanted to fight Harbinger one on one. He wanted to end what his father had started. Ryker watches with interest, watching Eleanor speak to her troops. He stands at the end, moving towards her.

"Techpriest. Are the blades ready?" The strange melding of man and machine, the Techpriest engineer, spoke. "They are, Miss. Finished the repairs yesterday." "Good. Have them ready to send out. Two divisions, combined with Russes, of random varieties. Focus on automatic firepower, however. I also want two Stormlords on the field, paired with punishers. Techpriest, have your servitors ready the area beforehand. Set up camouflaged positions, defenses and entrenchement zones for the HWTs. I want bolters and Autocannons prepped stat, along with mortar teams. And don't forget to tell the Vox operators to get their packs ready. Time to show to that blueball bastars what the Tempest can do."

He admired her strength and voice, her will. He remembered why he married her. Slowly his anger melted away, and he understood, inside. He still.. Would like to talk to her alone but, for now he was soothed. He approached her. "Ellie... I have a question."
-
"Make it quick. We have little time. We depart tomorrow, early hours." She looked past him, at a comissar that was already scrambling. "And tell the men to practice their aim with a plasma gun! I don't want any crossfire in the line of duty!" She looked back at him, her helmet still hiding her face. "I'm listening."

He stands, watching the troops form up. He sighs. "Am I even helping anymore..." He questions himself as he sits down. It seemed like all he did was get in the way... Like all he did was cause trouble.. That got people hurt.
