I think people interpret p2w in different ways(even though it has a literal definition.) "Winning" isn't the same for everyone in Destiny as it doesn't have a set end goal that's the same for everyone. Not everyone cares about max level or endgame. Some people want to earn gear and some want to be the best in pvp. Some people want both. Or it can be something else entirely. I don't see Sterling Treasure as p2w but I don't think others that do are necessarily wrong, they just have a different view on it. Kinda how opinions work.

My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'.
