So you're going to mock the guy for his origin story. How is this different from Birthers?
Plus so many Americans come from European families who Anglicised their names that this will just make him appear more ordinary and like them. You pick on one person who changed their name to fit in and you pick on all of them right?
This stunt is doomed to backfire and play into the hands of Trump. It's essentially racist because it mocks the man's roots, plus it being a decision of his [i]ancestor[/i] to change name it is also mocking the departed.
I appreciate the motivation behind it, but there are much better things to attack Trump on than his name. Perhaps John Oliver should have kept to his policy of keeping his mouth shut on Trump.

It's not about "mocking his roots." Oliver is commenting on how the Trump name (or rather the Trump [i]brand[/i]) is synonymous with success due to Donald's constant flapping about it. Essentially, the Drumpf movement is trying to separate the man from the name. Trump: a [b]"huuuuge"[/b] "very successful" company. Drumpf: a liar and a wuss with baby carrot fingers.

I don't even support Trump, I just think the John Oliver tactic is rubbish. You can't spend 2 elections calling out Birthers for their low tactics and then immediately adopt the same tactics when the tables are turned. Well you can, but people like me will call you out for adopting tactics that you previously denounced. If you didn't like Birthers, then don't push this Drumpf thing. Stick to your principles or be happy to accept the label of "hypocrite"

The situation is a bit different and there's a lot more to it than the average joe may be aware of. Trump was calling out Stewart (Leibowitz) on being a jew and hiding it. Trump is in big business and is very aware of jewish crypsis (hiding their identity).

Yeah but Barrack Hussein Obama? I still can't believe our country elected that guy then REELECTED him lol(not to mention his real deficiencies as a leader). Trump should change his name to Saddam Himmler Stalin. He'd be a shoo-in.
